Holy Cross 27 Holmes 26

Featured Replies

From last weeks game I knew the Bulldogs needed a kicker and I posted that last week. This game will allways be close from now on the blow outs are over on both sides. This will be a battle just like in basketball. From a Bulldog and a uncle of a current player nice job Indians and good luck the rest of the season.

HC kickers played a huge part in this game. Dornbush consistently booted the ball in the end zone on kickoffs which kept the Bulldog athletes from running the ball back against the Indians young special teams squad. That was HUGE!Sullivan also did a great job punting.

Bulldogs are super quick and great athletes but really need more team disipline. They had numerous personal foul calls along with a lot of off sides. Penalties killed them!

Nice win for the HC Indians..way to represent the 1A's...

They had at least 17 penalties -- and at least a couple of them were personal fouls for losing their cool. Countless offisdes, illegal motions / formations, and holdings. Just sloppy.

That's the M/O for Holmes.

I really liked what Kozerwski (sp) said on the radio after the game regarding the penalties. To paraphrase, he said, sure they affected the outcome of the game, but that's why they are in the rule book. We had five guys out there working their tails off to make sure the game was played as cleanly as possible. If you block someone in the back, its a penalty and it's going to be called.

And for what it's worth, as much as I liked listening to Kozerwski (sp) answer questions after the game, whoever was asking him the questions has miles to go before he's only awful. He couldn't even finish a sentence.

Fraid so. No matter what the sport, Holmes always seems to lead in the immaturity stat.

Sad loss for my Bulldogs. Congrats Indians.

From what I've seen over the years, occasionally like tonight it's several personal foul type things, but most of the time it's not. It's more things like jumping off sides, false starts, etc. that keep them playing on their heels all night.

He was bad. The player of the game was laughing at his questions...

I think I am going to Kozerski's and steal his 4 leaf clover.

Just was reading the Holme / HC prediction thread. Not one person picked HC. Great win for them. Its too bad that some of these 1A teams will not make their dist playoffs when these 4A teams will. Maybe we should go to a 1 class system where the best teams get in :D

Congrats to Holy Cross for the second week in a row. These two wins against two 4A will boost their program tremedously.

I didn't see the game so I can't comment on the penalty situation Friday night, but I did see their win last week and some questionable calls did seem to go their way. I hope that I'm wrong...

What teams are you referring to?

Holy Cross will more than likely make the playoffs

Holmes is a bubble team

Scott barring a miracle will NOT make the playoffs

Regarding my prediction READ it. I made statements regarding the rivalry and the fact that Penny did not play last week YES I predicted a Holmes Victory. I did not predict a blowout.

Penny was a difference maker. Offensively Holmes killed themselves with penalties but defensively it was there inablility to stop the inside run that did them in. Once Penny came in in the second quarter HC looked like a different offense. Holmes had saveral chances to get the D off the field but could not stop HC on 3rd and 4th down. The 2nd half TD pass came after about 12 consecutive runs. Holmes has a chance to be a contender in 4A this year but they have to eleminate the stupid penalties ( way to many false starts and you can't have unsportsmanlikes).

Boring game to watch. Every time something happened there were yellow flags covering the field. Tightly called, have never seen that many penalties. Holmes could do whatever they wanted however the flags negated majority of there big plays.

Except kick an extra point. No kicker whats up with that? Hats off to HC another David beats Goliath in NKY. Seems to be the theme so far this year.
