August 25, 201610 yr If an employee didn't actually so something that violated their policies, firing them without due process can be a headache, and an expensive one. That's why everywhere I've ever worked employes a progressive diciplinary policy, and documentation is key. And it's a key reason I think that the incident was not acurarely portrayed by the spokesperson. Got you. Yes it can be a pain and expensive which is why good employers will weigh all the options and outcomes before acting.
August 25, 201610 yr It's "A" on that map... 3408 Preston, right outside the Fairgrounds. There's only 2 in all of Louisville? Heck P-town has 3 :lol2:
August 25, 201610 yr I hadn't realized until @rockmom's post that this story originated with the police union spokesman. Frankly, police union spox, as a "profession," have such little credibility with me that I can't help but re-interpret this story with a healthy dose of skepticism. I can't remember reading a statement from a union spox that offered any degree of nuance or prudence and quite a lot of them teeter on the edge of raving lunacy. I get that they are meant to be advocates for their members and that is their only constituency, but they do a disservice to those members when they universally offer knee-jerk hyperbole in support of their officers. I happen to agree. However given the potential for a public relations embarrassment I can't help thinking if it didn't come down like reported YUM would have been all over it calling it a misunderstanding. You can bet they had the real story pretty quickly.

Agreed on the union spokesperson issue. I appreciate them "doing their job" but they often come across poorly.

August 26, 201610 yr I believe Long John Silvers also is included. Or not. LJS hasn't been a part of Yum Brands for 5 years.

August 26, 201610 yr Obviously an attempt by the corporation for some good press: Officers always eat free at some KFC's in the state
August 26, 201610 yr having been in the restaurant business, I am so happy to be out of it now. I cannot imagine having to try to find the needle in the haystack, quality young workers in this day and age. The headaches involved with dealing with the mind numbed video game/I-phone generation would be enough for me to close up shop and go to work for someone else.
