Police Officers Denied Service at Louisville Taco Bell

Featured Replies

The officers already said they don't want anyone to lose their jobs over this. What's up with the keyboard justice warriors who know so much better than they do?

Any employee at any retail establishment that refuses to serve ANY customer should be fired.

I agree.

The kid(s) loses his job, and it reinforces the negative attitude toward police et al. The question is how do you respond to the situation? Is there something that can be done to educate the employee and possibly change his attitude?

So if an employee was to refuse to serve a woman wearing a Muslim head covering should he/she be re-educated then as well?

Yes.

Yes.

Then as the business owner are you willing to face the ramifications of that action? Noble, but if your business is adversely affected all of your employees may lose their jobs. At least the one idiot MAY have learned a lesson.

What if the business chooses not to serve said customer?

What if the business chooses not to serve said customer?

As long as they are in a protected class, the customer has the full faith and backing of the US Government.

What makes you think that their opinion overrides the opinions of those who see this for what it is ?

I just know what I would do if I were the owner of this business.

What makes you think that their opinion overrides the opinions of those who see this for what it is ?

What makes you, who live an hour and a half away, see it for what it is? Even before the business has had an opportunity to investigate and respond?

You'd fire an employee on only the word of a customer?

If I had an employee refuse service to a police officer, I would fire him/her so fast that I might have to finish the shift out with my own hands.

Are you saying you don't think this really happened?

What makes you, who live an hour and a half away, see it for what it is? Even before the business has had an opportunity to investigate and respond?

Ummm, because it's a published news story and not really difficult to understand ?

Because, regardless of how I may feel about law enforcement issues in America, refusing service based on any condition other than a personal safety / hygiene issue is discrimination?

Because an hour and half away has nothing to do with a reaction to a news report ?

Because I'm able to think for myself ?

Because the business has investigated and made a determination that the employees were wrong, hence the "retraining" ?

It's not that tough. Incident occurred, police reported, news reported, employer reported and now everyone can have an opinion....

What does distance have to do with anything ?

Just because it's in your back yard doesn't give you exclusivity on having an opinion does it ?

You'd fire an employee on only the word of a customer?

So you think the police officers made this up and are lying?

Are you saying you don't think this really happened?

Given the source of the original story, I'm saying there's a possibility it didn't happen exactly as described.

And it's customer service. I am all about it. But I also know the customer can present an issue in a light that makes them, ummm....blameless? Yet paints the employee as heinous. I've been in customer service too long to fire an employee only on the word of the customer.
