Answer about 99% of calls. Hell, Donald Trump called me on Saturday asking for a donation. :lol2:

 

If it is someone trying to sell/scam me, I either "jack" them around or hang up and block the call. It's real easy to simply hang up if you don't want to talk to someone.

I have a won a lot of free cruises lately. So I've got that going for me, which is nice.

From August thru February I pretty much have to answer every call.

If a number isn't saved in my phone, 0% chance I'm answering it.

To answer the question, I answer my phone almost every time. I'd say probably 90% of the time, unless I'm out & about or in the middle of a conversation & receive a call from an unknown number. I'd rather take the call from the telemarketer & hang up then let it ring, go to voicemail, etc.

 

I'm taking this back, no way I answer 90% of the time. I do answer numbers I don't know, though.

Having thought about this throughout the day, I'd go so far as to say I answer all but the calls I receive at work and occasionally some of those too. I'm not particularly talkative so 20 or 30 second calls aren't uncommon and sometimes it's just nice to hear someone's voice.

Never if it's an 800 number. Mostly never if it's a number not in my contacts, but if I recognize it as local I might pick up. However, some of the scam operations have found a way to originate from local numbers so as to fool people.

 

I try to answer calls from those in my contacts as much as possible, but people often have a tendency to call at the worst possible times — like an hour before deadline. Sorry, I'll have to get you back.

I rarely answer calls from numbers that aren't in my contacts. If it's a local number, there's a chance I answer it, but telemarketers are getting good at using local number now. If it's 800 or out of town, I don't answer. I haven't had a landline in 5 or 6 years.....there's simply no good reason for me to have one. I only talk to a handful of people on the phone anyway....90% of my communication is done by texting. And I was big time anti-texting 7 or 8 years ago.

Wow. I don't blame her for considering changing her number. I assume you can register a cell phone on the Do Not Call list can't you?

 

I would say I average 5 a week, but at times that number has reached 15 over the course of a week. Each time I go through the same routine of blocking the number and deleting the voicemail. I put my name on the no-call list years back and it worked for 5 years I would say. The past year or two has been bad though.

Texting certainly has its value. However, if it takes more than 3 text messages to complete the conversation it would have been better to do a phone call.

 

On my cell phone, I have received less than a half dozen sales type calls.

I've been making more of an effort to call people instead of text. Yes, I still send a lot of texts, but we are creating a world of zombies unable to communicate with one another. I am as guilty as the next person, but I am not sure many understand how bad communication has gotten. People unable to verbally communicate is a problem.

I spend a lot of time on BGP with mine.

Zero except for caller IDs that are recognized or may be from neighborhood.

 

When a pollster does come on we politely as possible indicate we do not participate in polls.

 

My wife says - they say its anonymous. I say - if they called you its not anonymous since they know who they called.
