MJAlltheWay24 Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Sounds like it's a done deal. Not thrilled with the idea of Chapman mowing down our guys the last few games at GABP this year. But, oh well. Really hope they don't extend his contract there.

OlDog75 Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 MJ, unfortunately with the way the boys have been playing this year.... "Sounds like it's a done deal. Not thrilled with the idea of (insert any name) mowing down our guys the last few games at GABP this year."
00Rocket28 Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I guess it's hard to gauge the trade, the Cubs are virtual lock for the playoffs,so at least we know Chapman will be pitching meaningful innings in the playoffs, plus this keeps him from pitching for the opposition in the playoffs. Hope it pays off..
Jumper_Dad Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Chapman versus Votto. 10 pitch at bat with Votto fouling off several pitches by just catching a few seams with the bat...then he strikes out watching a 85mph change up over the middle of the plate.
SnottieDrippen Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 This seems more relevant than save opportunities.

00Rocket28 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I suppose this could be a tryout for both parties. See how well he fits in or out. May fall in love with each other and resign with the Cubs in the offseason. I don't know if this has been addressed, but would the Cubs be able to give him a qualifying offer and get a nice pick if he doesn't take it?
mcpapa Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 This seems more relevant than save opportunities. Recalls the typical Nolan Ryan inning when he first started out. Walk, K, walk, K, walk, screaming liner to third for the out.

PP1 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I'm a Reds fan but I'm very much pulling for the Cubs this year. My dad and my grandparents are big cubs fans because they're from Michigan city and South Bend. It be sweet to see them see a Cubs World Series before they pass away
LRCW Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Chapman and Rizzo had some bad blood in the past. I wonder if that was ever resolved.
sweet16 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Did the Yanks get a better package for chapman than the Reds got?
00Rocket28 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Did the Yanks get a better package for chapman than the Reds got? Ummmm...yes. But not as bad as everyone is acting.
