Teams often celebrate the anniversary of championship teams...With the 75/76 Reds being in the discussion of GOAT I say celebrate them every chance you can. The majority of other franchises would love to have teams like that they could bring out from time to time.

 

The 90 team is one of the most beloved Reds reams ever with a few All Time Reds favorites on that team as well.

Let's put some butts in the seats. A 100 loss season will not do that.

I'm with you. I'm not a Reds fan, but I can say that going to the Yum Center for Louisville basketball games, just seeing Denny Crum walking to his seat gets me excited for the game.

 

They're the local legends. I can't tire of remembering them.

Boy you sure do seem to get bothered by such trivial things. I can't get enough of the Big Red Machine. Best baseball team during my lifetime.

And it works every single time, that and bobbleheads.. I think Willie or one of those WLW guys were talking about Cleveland celebrating their recent NBA title and Cincinnati dips into that Pete Rose, 75/76/90 well time after time after time after time. How many of those stories can be re-lived over and over. Give Castelini credit, he knows his fan base

Better start preparing for the statue then in 2017.

So we just give the HOF inductees a certificate and pat on the back?

The rebuild target is 2018 so there has to be something next year to fill a weekend series full of seats.

Not being duped at all. I didn't attend a single game this weekend.

If you don't like it, don't go

 

Who cares if they want to celebrate these teams and players? Who does it hurt? They aren't forcing you to spend money. Its one weekend all year, get over it.

 

And call it what you want, no one forces you to go. I saw a whole lot of joy in 50-70 year old fans as they got to see these great players this weekend. Saw a lot of those same fans sharing memories with their adult kids and grandkids too. And making new memories for the young fans as they listen to their grandfather talk about the best hitter or the greatest team to ever play.

 

These all-time best players won't be with us a whole lot longer unfortunately, and they should be celebrated.

@All In, why do you care if other fans enjoy themselves and professional teams make money?

 

I know you'd rather go to game with less than 10,000 peope, but its like you get all salty if the Reds make money or fans actually show up for a promotion. Why does it matter to you?
