June 13, 201610 yr Nothing greedy about wanting to protect yourself immediately. You truly believe the only way you can do that is with a semi-automatic weapon? I'd think you could find a number of handguns that would do just fine.
June 13, 201610 yr Nothing greedy about wanting to protect yourself immediately. Then we could institute a "necessity" clause for exceptions. Why do you need this gun RIGHT NOW? If you have a legitimate case, you can be approved. Otherwise you wait.
June 13, 201610 yr How is that blaming the victim? If someone is in an abusive relationship, don't you think they may need to re-evaluate things a little? That doesn't mean they are at fault when/if they are victims of continued abuse. Far from it. Spin it any way you want. You made the statement. Just own it and admit it was a dumb comment.
June 13, 201610 yr Even though the more likely scenario is that the gun would be taken and used against the female. How, is superman behind that door? Is the woman right next to door when he breaks through?
June 13, 201610 yr Then we could institute a "necessity" clause for exceptions. Why do you need this gun RIGHT NOW? If you have a legitimate case, you can be approved. Otherwise you wait. I would have no problems with this, however I highly doubt it would get passed court. I just don't see how a law abiding citizen would have to wait.
June 13, 201610 yr The only good news right now is that there have not been anymore deaths. He killed 49 and injured 53. Hopefully the 53 will all make it.
June 13, 201610 yr That person can find another way to find a gun. A waiting period is not going to stop it. The fact they can purchase a gun illegally doesn't mean we should sell them one legally. Should we start selling heroin because people can buy it on the street?
June 13, 201610 yr It does if it prevents someone from being hurt. The problem with domestic violence, is usually the gun gets used as intimidation, gets used in an aggressive manner as the violence escalates. Battered women are usually on the wrong end of the gun.
June 13, 201610 yr Spin it any way you want. You made the statement. Just own it and admit it was a dumb comment. It wasn't a dumb comment at all, you just don't agree with it. :lol2:
June 13, 201610 yr Terrorist attacked Paris and they went after the terrorist. Terrorist attacked Orlando and we go after the guns. I understand what you are getting at, But how does one go after lone wolves? Obviously this guys co-worker and the Fed's investigations were justified, so they need to look very closely on what they missed and why they didn't see him as a serious threat.
June 13, 201610 yr You truly believe the only way you can do that is with a semi-automatic weapon? I'd think you could find a number of handguns that would do just fine. You do realize that there are semi automatic handguns, right?

June 13, 201610 yr The fact they can purchase a gun illegally doesn't mean we should sell them one legally. Should we start selling heroin because people can buy it on the street? Strawman, implementing longer waiting periods without a fully supporting the background system will not work.
June 13, 201610 yr It wasn't a dumb comment at all, you just don't agree with it. :lol2: You blamed the victims of violence, and just don't want to admit it.
June 13, 201610 yr And let me add this to the discussion... For all of you pretending that your hoarding of guns is for protection, I'm calling stinky old jellyroll. Edited June 13, 201610 yr by True blue (and gold)
