June 13, 201610 yr Author What percentage of mentally ill persons are actually diagnosed as being mentally ill? There are varying degrees of mental illness, so where does the line start and stop? Any type or degree of mental instability would keep one from purchasing? Even simple anxiety, minor depression? I would bet that most people who have a mental illness never get checked out and are never diagnosed. My post said "dangerously mentally ill."

Nobody is taking away anybody's guns, or even advocating as such. The theme here, however, seems to be that some people's greed (wanting a gun immediately) outweighs the potential safety benefits of waiting a few more days for a gun.

If someone is in an abusive relationship, don't you think they may need to re-evaluate things a little? That doesn't mean they are at fault when/if they are victims of continued abuse. Far from it.
