June 1, 201610 yr Trump is 100% right that illegal immigration is something that must be stopped. See article below. Census: Illegal immigration up 57% to 55
June 1, 201610 yr I am not sure if Trump's rhetoric or ideas are fully sound, but I agree in-full that illegal immigration is something to get a hold of. I don't think many disagree with that notion, but it is obvious that it has never been treated with the full seriousness by either side. Who knows if he would do any better, but it is an issue many voters feel is in need of addressing.

June 1, 201610 yr At least he says he is gonna try. Thats a start. They have all said at one time or another that they will attempt to curtail the influx of illegal immigrants or have better safeguards, but no candidate has ever made that the central focus of their campaign. All have treated the issue with kid gloves for fear of alienating a large (voting) base. He does not seem to care about that and has brought about as large of a segment that feel it is out of control.
June 1, 201610 yr Its not just the illegals coming into the country. The drug trade coming into the country over the border is at least as serious a problem. I see the libs proposing treatment and rehabilitation for all the heroin addicts. Once the drugs are in the country, the battle is lost. As John McCain proposed in his Presidential Campaign, BUILD THE WALL!
June 1, 201610 yr I don't care who you are; 550,000 illegal immigrants coming in over two years is a huge problem that we can't keep punting down the road. Not saying Trump is right but the issue should be high on everyone's priorities.

Not saying Trump is right but the issue should be high on everyone's priorities. And as long as small business owners continue to hire and pay illegal immigrants so they can provide their product/service at a competitive price, the illegal immigrants will continue to keep coming in. Wall or no wall. The risk is worth the reward for both the immigrant and the business owners. To stop the problem, we need to focus on why they are coming here...not how they are getting here.

Wall or no wall. The risk is worth the reward for both the immigrant and the business owners. To stop the problem, we need to focus on why they are coming here...not how they are getting here. I believe we need to concentrate on both sides of the equation. Crack down on the employers while also tightening our borders. I believe one of the reasons nothing is getting done is because each side only wants to concentrate on what they feel is important so they never compromise and do some of both. And so we're left with a quarter of a million new illegal immigrants a year coming across the borders.
June 1, 201610 yr If those numbers are accurate, I'm shocked. Didn't realize it was that bad. Again, not sure that Trump is right, but someone had better figure out who these people are and find a solution.
June 1, 201610 yr Maybe this will allow both sides of the aisle to see what a huge problem this is. One thing is for sure, those that say it is not a problem can't avoid the facts now.
June 1, 201610 yr I wonder how Obama or Hillary would feel is some drunk or criminal illegal immigrant killed their daughter or grandkid. Maybe they should see it the way others have who have lost loved ones to someone who had no business being here to begin with.
June 2, 201610 yr I wonder how Obama or Hillary would feel is some drunk or criminal illegal immigrant killed their daughter or grandkid. Maybe they should see it the way others have who have lost loved ones to someone who had no business being here to begin with. I lost my brother and nephew to a white American drunk driver. And my sister-in-law will never walk again from the same accident. Are we supposed to feel like it could have been worse.
