Surnames you associate with a specific high school

Featured Replies

Two names from EKY that I seem to hear quite often over the years:

Van Hoose

Tackett

Solely Paintsville or is it common elsewhere.

It seems like every school in the 13th, 14th, and 15th Region have a Tackett on their roster every season.

At Highlands I would go with Fennell and Schlosser for starters. Walz would also be another name. Schlarman's were already mentioned.

The one that immediately jumps out for me here in Louisville:

The Brohms and Trinity.

Beat me to the punch

Fennell is what I had in mind for Highlands as well.

CovCath - Berger

As a Cov Cath guy, I've always associated Berger with Beechwood (although there certainly isn't any denying the name's significance at Cov Cath).

For me, I think of Cov Cath when I hear Summe.

There may only have been one person behind the surname, in this instance, but it's impossible for me to think of anything other than Beechwood whenever I hear the name Yeagle.

Cooper - Simon Kenton

Yenter - Campbell Co

Rushell - Ryle

Myers - everywhere

CovCath - Thelen

How about Ponzer at Simon Kenton?

Having married into the family, I know that there are thousands in Kenton Co.

Owsley- Marshall, Smith

Clay- Sizemore, Smith

Breathitt- Turner, Noble

Perry- Combs, Napier

Lee- Brandenburg, Combs

Wolfe- Tolson, Spencer

Jackson- Gabbard, Lakes

Leslie- Sizemore, Hoskins

Knott- Amburgy, Slone
