May 14, 201610 yr How about Ponzer at Simon Kenton? Greg, Guy, Nate and Allison. They are up there and Greg's two sons did well at WV.
May 14, 201610 yr Names I associate with the mountain counties in my area: Owsley- Marshall, Smith Clay- Sizemore, Smith Breathitt- Turner, Noble Perry- Combs, Napier Lee- Brandenburg, Combs Wolfe- Tolson, Spencer Jackson- Gabbard, Lakes Leslie- Sizemore, Hoskins Knott- Amburgy, Slone Letcher- Banks Another name associated with Knott County, and I think Floyd, Johnson, and maybe Pike counties as well, is Hall. That name is prevalent throughout that area.
May 14, 201610 yr Isn't Larry Flynt from Owsley as well? I told you wrong in my previous reply. Flynt is from Magoffin County, not Floyd.
May 16, 201610 yr As a Cov Cath guy, I've always associated Berger with Beechwood (although there certainly isn't any denying the name's significance at Cov Cath). For me, I think of Cov Cath when I hear Summe. Summe and Thelen.
May 16, 201610 yr Beechwood: Brockhoeft Campbell Co: Franzen NewCath: Pangallo Highlands: Walz, Cecil, and Guidugli all remind me of the Fort immediately. CovCath: Summe and Thelen Dixie: Bramlage and Derry Conner: Miles and Gouge (@Clyde) Boone: Drohan, Schwartz, Abdullah, and Alexander Those are the names, off the top of my head, that regardless of the context, when I hear those names I think of those schools.
