His catch phrase was "come to Kash's big bargain barn where you save Cash with Kash". Kash was from my home county, Owsley. His brother was a minister in Owsley for many years before his passing. and his two nephews are ministers still living in Owsley. They are related to the Knott County Amburgy's.
May 13, 201610 yr For you northern Kentuckians, Breathitt County had a lot of people that migrated to the Newport area back in the 1950s and 60s. There are quite a few Turner's that have attended Newport High over the years. Breathitt used to play in a holiday tournament at Newport every year.

Not too get too far off topic, but I remember going to a flea market in Booneville that my grandparents always called the Booneville Sale (probably their name) as a child. My family is from Breathitt County. Also I always thought the best cheer in the state would have been - Whooooooooooooooose going to win this game tonight, we are the OWLS.

Lots of men would come up here and work during the week and go back to the mountains on the weekends.

That would have been the Owsley County Stockyard Sale. They held it every Wednesday for many years. It eventually just became a flea market but the people still referred to it as the Stockyard Sale. It ended sometime back in the 1980s. They usually had big crowds.
May 13, 201610 yr How about the Dougherty's at Bellevue? Murray and Wrobleski at Dayton? Maile at CovCath?
