Simple question. Who is a better coach (In your opinion)? Gregg Popovich or Steve Kerr?

I think Pop is the best coach in professional sports.

Pop, end of discussion.

I agree. I like Kerr but how can we know how good he is yet? He walked into a great situation and during the playoffs last year, every team they played had major injury issues. Then this year when he was out with the bad back, they did not miss a beat in his absence. Again I like him A LOT but just don't know if 10 other coaches could do just as well with that roster and the situation he walked into. Pop has done it for a long time and with numerous different rosters.

Agree on it being Pop and it shouldn't even be a discussion. Disagree on 10 other coaches being able to do what he has. What was the best seed the Warriors had with that group before he took over? He put a system together that fit perfectly for the players they have both offensively and defensively. He is the one who helped create the great chemistry they have. In facr the way Kerr runs the Warriors he learned a lot of it from Pop. I don't think them getting off to a great start this year without him hurts him. Imo Walton is the one who we know nothing about. Walton benefitted from having a system Kerr installed for him already in place, a team Kerr helped have great team chemistry with and already a championship team with Kerr.

Let's not forget while we all agreed the Warriors were a better situation for Kerr when he was deciding between the Knicks and Warriors. Very few if anyone thought it was a team he can walk into and win championships with especially being in the West. Most at best probably thought they would be the 4the best team in the West under him.

Pop, Reilly, Red, and Phil are the Mount Rushmore of NBA coaches IMO.

It's Pop and it's not even close. Kerr is what in his second season as a HC?

Seriously?:idunno: You actually think it's Kerr?

That seems right off the top of my head...seems like I'm forgetting someone though.

How is this even a discussion? I mean I like what Kerr has done, but due to the back issues he has pretty much coached one and a half seasons. Already a talented roster, and one that Mark Jackson groomed and got pretty close the year before he took over (not to mention teaching them so defensive principles).

Who knows he may go down as one of the best, but right now there's no way you could argue he's better than Pop.

Not really a fair comparison seeing as Kerr is still very fresh.

Pop in a landslide.

Byron Scott?

Byron Scott?

:lol2: Not for the Mt Rushmore of Coaches!
