Juke
Is Tates Creek a program on the rise? They made strides in the right direction at times last year and took Lafayette to the wire. What do they have coming back and can they keep up the positive momentum?
ATLCat
I like their Coach and he definitely showed marked improvement last year. The issue is they lose their QB Burke, who was one of the more underrated players in the State, and the entire focal point of their Offense. The Shelby kid came back late in the season and was a playmaker but he is gone...the Lofton kid was a heckuva athlete at WR and graduated They lose by far their best Defensive player in Sakima Opsal who was an one man tackling machine and probably single handily saved 6 or 7 TD's. The Martin kid was their second best Defender and he graduated as well at LB. They return two nice JR RB's in Warner and Bell. WR Jackson Beerman will be one of the Top 10 WR's in the State and is a matchup nightmare with his height. Turner Gentry is a solid option in the Slot. It's hard to project Tates Creek being better than last year when they lose probably 5 of their top 6 players, but with that said if their new starting QB can show any semblance of accuracy and understanding the system it shouldn't be hard to come close to equaling last year's team. Not a Top 10 6A Team..but probably in that 12-18 range in the class.
