What Is Going On in the UK Hoops Program?

Featured Replies

This is a tough situation for UK. How exactly do you fire a very successful coach (one of most successful in country and the best in program history), with no smoking gun or tangible evidence of wrong doing, but because he is a relational nightmare has put the program on a trajectory it likely can't recover from under his watch.

And to boot, as I said in another post, Barnhardt is doubly conflicted because... #1 He knows what Mitchell has done, and is capable of doing, and....#2. He really wants his coaches to be successful as both coaches and in their personal lives. Even though he has given Mitchell a life jacket, the weight of the program's current problems may be far heavier than even it can hold above water.

I would really like to know what the REAL REASONS are players are leaving and de-committing?

They can say all they want about assistant coaches and HC not being there due to his baby, etc.

Has to be more to it.

I have to think there is more to it, as well.

At the end of the day, I am not sure it matters. Whatever the reason, I am not sure recruiting can recover from this. With that said, it seems coaches Elzy and Butts believe it can.

I don't think so. If it was it would have came out by now. No way all of those players and coaches leave and manage to not have said something by now. I guess saying my coach was a jerk is something none of them want to discuss publicly.

Which leads me to think its more of a them problem than a him problem, unless they can give specifics otherwise.

It defies logic to believe that, but hey keep believing that and you will have an coach without any issues who has no players because they were all flawed.

Finally, some good news for Kentucky women's basketball - LEX18.com | Continuous News and StormTracker Weather

Interesting paragraph:

Scott went word to me via a direct message on Twitter. Her mother agreed to an interview, but later said she was "advised" for her or her daughter not to do any interviews. That's the same advice that former signee Lindsey Corsaro told me she had received after scheduling an interview. A few days later she de-committed from Kentucky.

Then tell me why the left?

Then tell me why the left?

Obviously neither you or I know; however, you believe that 7 players, 3 coaches, and 2 recruits all had separate individual personal issues which caused them to go elsewhere and I believe they had a common issue.

Matt Jones just said there are whispers of "more bad news" coming for the UK Hoops program.

The train is so far off the track now that it's like a scene from The Fugitive.

Jones says there are reports that another staff member is leaving. Unbelievable.

Which was about the best train wreck I have ever seen at movies.

As bad as things are, if indeed it is a staff member going to NKU, this really is a non-event.
