Curt Schilling fired from ESPN

Featured Replies

I wonder if I would get fired for beating a man up if he went in the restroom with my daughter?

I wonder how many crying for tolerance would allow a man to go into the restroom with their wife, daughter, or granddaughter?

He lost his job, as did the minister. The intent is clear, keep your mouth shut or you lose your job or you are harassed in some way. A backdoor method of controlling or eliminating free speech.

You are free to spout of any stupid comment you want. (Not you) Doesn't mean you are free of the consequences.

That is what I was going to say as well.

Funny, in the sick sense, that those who stand for the moral decision of protecting their female family members are called bigots. Those calling those defending their wives and daughters are supporting people who at best are misguided individuals, they are the ones who have lost their moral bearings. Now, if they replace their male plumbing for female plumbing, I then could see that they are sincere in their beliefs, but until then, stay in the facilities that goes with what you were born with.

ESPN is well within their rights to fire Schilling. But, this business of labeling everyone a bigot has gotten ridiculous.

"Protecting" from who? Show me a study that the transgender, gender fluid, questioning or other groups have a higher incidence of pedophelia, assault or other illegal conduct. The law in NC is nothing more than a "boogeyman" excuse to espouse judeo-christian norms and discriminate against those they see as "different" or "who at best are misguided individuals."

You're entitled to your binary bible-thumping and heteronormative opinions, but quit trying to get the state to sanction them via statutes.

Any good totalitarian would smile over this firing or the firing of the minister for his sermons. The silencing of the opposition makes it easier to take total control and eliminate all freedoms. The allowing of misguided individuals to go go into the wrong bathroom is just a front for destroying morality and belief in God. It is all part of the communist and/or the Alinsky play book. Destroy morals and God makes it easier to worship government.

Schilling has revealed his bigotry well before this episode. I'm glad the bigot is gone. Plus, he was terrible.

Good...GOOD !!!!

He was terrible, but, at least he got paid to be terrible. You do it for free on this board every day.

Obviously his calling after baseball was not to be a commentator on national TV. So be it. Not a big deal IMO. Who really cares what he or any of his ilk think? I certainly don't.

By your rational we should take the labels off all bathrooms, locker rooms, and the like.

het·er·o·nor·ma·tive

ˌhedərōˈnôrmədiv/

adjective

denoting or relating to a world view that promotes heterosexuality as the normal or preferred sexual orientation.

I have not one problem with a business that chooses to follow a policy that mandates bathroom use to your birth gender. I have every problem with a government that mandates it. Someone talked earlier about transgender use of bathrooms as the road to communism. I'm sorry, (well not really) but when the government continues to dictate further and further what we can and cannot do as individuals and businesses, that's a road I don't want to be on. Again, if every business in North Carolina said they would follow this policy, fine, that's their choice. But the government getting involved is way across the line in my book.

Crappola.

Tell that to anyone who spent time in a concentration camp or a gulag or a reeducation camp.
