There is a lot of talent in the pipeline at Beechwood. Don't underestimate what Beechwood can accomplish. It only takes a few excellent players leading others to change a basketball program. Choice ... become just another player at a really good program or help lead and change a high school basketball program for years to come? That's the basketball side of it.

On the academics and high school experience side, none are better than Beechwood.

I've heard it all before about beechwood. Maybe it's just the varsity coaching not getting it done

The coaching at Beechwood is excellent. The talent is on the way. It is going to be fun to watch.

Have heard that BW is still a potential destination for a couple other kids that can play. That island might have some inhabitants. They won't be there for team camp, but if things align, this group could become the 2nd best team in the 9th in the next couple years.

Please do tell?? Who's coming!!

Have had two sons and one grandchild go to BW. Overall high school experience is off the charts. A very large family embracing every kid in every aspect. Success in life will be determined by more than wins and losses. Jefferson will develop into everything he aspires to be through the BW experience. Plenty of time to let others pressure him with his college choice. Hope he is able to enjoy high school sports and fend off the adult unwanted opinions.

If you mean Huddleston and Salter they were playing Varsity with Highlands yesterday at Mason Co. Not likely.

I do hope Caleb stays at Beechwood though, they do have some very good talent coming up and he could still thrive.

JV only. Played at other location

So what happened that Newcath is no longer where he will play this year? Friends with a former teacher of his who said that had been the plan for two years?

Maybe Beechwood happened. I know people get tired of hearing it, but the environment and culture at that school are unique. Maybe he sees the players around his age in the pipeline and believes in what they can accomplish. Maybe it is like what we see often with high level college recruits. They all get to know each other, perhaps even play with each other and have success together and want to take it to the next level.

How would the teacher know?

I didn't mention any names in that post. I said that BW was a potential destination for a couple other kids. And, I forgot, maybe I should check in with all the experts on BGP about these top level kids who have played 150 games for me in the last 12 months for what their HS basketball plans are......I talk to these kids several times per week, and spend weekends at tournaments with them. They have played more games for me than they will play in their HS careers, so I kinda do understand what they are thinking....which coaches they like, what schools they like, when they want to play with their AAU friends, and what they are capable of doing.

Back to Caleb, the plan has NEVER been locked in to go to NCC. It was an option. Just like BW was an option, just like another school was an option. All the rest of the BGP community was full of conjecture because he showed up to an open gym or two with some NCC kids, because he played rec football with a few NCC kids, because he played rec basketball with a few NCC kids.......the other 75% of the time he spends with his AAU teammates and his BW friends. (Kinda funny to go back and read all the experts "guarantees" about where he was going to school."

I am sure coach will tinker and these two are charging hard for more minutes. Saturday younger Posey got the nod and didn't disappoint, he shot very well. Older Posey was mid season with his dimes and Noe shot very well. Race had a good afternoon. LaFrange would freely admit he did not shoot well but scored in transition and was a leader on the floor and seems to will the others. 20+ on Mason in the second half, light years ahead of last year.

Sounds like you are the expert and the only reason I brought those two up is because there was some mentioning in another thread awhile back hinting that they may explore other options.

My point in mentioning them is to say they are in pretty deep with the Highlands program right now so it sounds like they are happy probably not who you are talking about.

Feel free to share if I am not on target with that assumption.
