Wow! A thread dedicated to me.

 

If I'd have known this in advance, I'd have thought it might have read "Dave Schabell arrested for scalping tickets at State Tournament."

 

You get up each morning and do something that you enjoy doing and suddenly you are being nominated for things like HOFs.

 

I've been fortunate to be surrounded by great kids, coaches, parents, and admins over the years. While I thought that this honor was a distinct possibility sometime in the future after I "retired", I was happy that my family, including my 94 year old dad was able to be here to celebrate my special night.

 

I'm indebted to former Brossart coach Willie Schlarman who introduced/inducted me, and for all of my friends and former players who were in attendance, or with us in spirit.

Nobody promotes Bishop Brossart better than Dave..........Congratulations on your induction.

Congrats Dave, nice talking to you at the state tourney. Well deserved!!!!

He is also a member of the 10th region Hall of Fame and the NKADA Hall of Fame.

As one who occasionally helps Mark Wehry on broadcasts let me say that Dave is the O.G. when it comes to internet broadcasts in NKY. It's not easy especially in the "old days" with some of the technology issues.

 

It takes a commitment that very few have to a school.

If people only knew what he does behind the scenes for the students and families at BBHS, they would be stunned.

Having been on with Dave a few times for his broadcasts, he is one of the G.O.A.T. when it comes to not only promoting the Bishop Brossart athletics but NKY athletics as a whole. One of the greatest guys you'll come across.
