March 15, 201610 yr The only seeds I had issue with were IU as a 5 and A&M as a 3. Seed-wise, everyone else seemed about right IMO.
March 15, 201610 yr Of course he is, and it works. No one is faulting him, heck, he is the BEST at it. However, it creates this UK fan-base narrative that everyone is out to get us, it is us against the world, and it is, in a word, silly. How often do you see posts in this forum like "that ref hates UK", "that journalist is anti-UK", "the committee (which, you know, is constantly turning over and evolving) wants to screw UK", etc. It is funny.UK fans were like that way before Cal showed up. Don't get me wrong, he recognized it was there and uses it but it was definitely present before him.
March 15, 201610 yr Bomani had some reporter on yesterday who said the brackets were pretty much done Saturday. Unless team that was going to be out won their tournament, the games on Sunday had little impact on the selections.

Sometimes the UK fans are a thing to behold. For the most part great people. Saw where House from Texas A&M was ripping his fan base for not showing up at the SEC tourney. Estimated 400 of them there. Guys were saying during the LSU vs A&M game that LSU may have had 50 people there. It would be interesting to see what SEC basketball would be minus KY.
March 15, 201610 yr Author This was also to be expected with so many poor teams with losses. ISU at a 4 seed was the most shocking. These seeds do reaffirm that the conference tournaments meant nothing to the committee. Unless you were Indiana, then it count against you. Had the committee stayed consistent in that line of thinking, IU should have been a 3 seed. They said that Indiana should have been a #4 seed at the very worst, possibly a 3. They said UK should have been a 3 and Texas A&M a 4 seed and also stated that the possible UK vs. IU matchup was done basically for CBS. The only team I see that maybe should have replaced Duke as a 4 is Indiana, but then maybe IU should have been a 4 instead of Iowa State. I believe the other team they thought could possibly move up was Arizona, would they said was too low as a 6. The questioned Syracuse losing 5 of their last 6 and having a RPI of 72 and being included.

Kind of like the old SWC. No one would care because Spring Football was starting. :thumb:
March 15, 201610 yr I swear I see this thread every single year.... I was thinking the same thing. To be honest, I don't have a problem with Duke where they are. They played in the toughest conference and did okay.
March 15, 201610 yr I swear I see this thread every single year.... Finally! A Duke fan admits it. :sssh:
March 15, 201610 yr Finally! A Duke fan admits it. :sssh: Agreed. Shouldn't have been a 1 last year either :sssh:
March 15, 201610 yr He said in an ESPN interview the other day that he knew there was no way the selection committee was going to allow them to have a home game in Louisville. Probably because he knew they didn't deserve it, and that by saying that it would rile up the fan base.
March 15, 201610 yr There is no conceivable way that Duke should be seeded on the same level as Kentucky. They should be a 6 seed.
March 15, 201610 yr Simple psychology. Cal beats his guys up all year, screaming, yelling, putting guys on the bench. Tournament comes around Cal buddies up with the guys and sells everyone involved (including fans)that it's us against the world. I agree. Cal's got his mojo working overtime.
March 15, 201610 yr Duke was one of about 20 other schools that received a head scratching seed. The benefit for Duke is being sent west, which is you are a questionable team, you want to be sent that direction. I heard Jim Calhoun say on ESPN on Sunday that they would contact the Committee and request to be placed in the West for two reason's they didn't have to worry about as much tickets passes etc. and the second reason he said was year in and year out it is the easiest of the four regions.
