UK 3 or 4 Seed?

Featured Replies

No conference championship games should be played on Sunday. Period.

I don't buy that. How hard would it have been for the committee to say today's winner gets the 3 seed and goes out west and the loser gets the 4 seed and goes to the east?

That's ONE instance. What if there were numerous similar situations all over the country going into Conference Championship games? You really want 100's of possibilities going into the Selection Show?

I'll even admit that UK got screwed. If KU is the #1 overall seed and UNC is the second-best 1 seed, that means UK is the No. 15 team in the land, and second-worst 4 seed.

That whole East bracket is some made-for-TV stuff.

Truth...BUT the TV networks dictate that they get to televise some conference finals games on Sunday. The conferences sold their soul by having these conference tourneys decide their automatic bid to make them a big deal and must see TV...these tourneys make a ton of cash but have their down side too.

Cal said he told the SEC Commish that they should not play the final on Sunday but my guess the SEC did not have a choice.

Literally 2011 all over again

Once again, SEC championship game means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

I've said it forever.. go home after the Saturday game and take the L. And on top of that, they get the Thu/Sat game this week to boot.

Note to Cal: go home after Saturday conference tournament game!

There were only a handful of championship games today. I would think they could have some pre slotting going on dependent on different outcomes, particularly since most of the work would have already been done after Saturday's results. It's not all that difficult.

After UK beats Indiana they just have to beat UNC, prob Xavier and or Virginia, then beat Kansas on a neutral site.

How does that path compare to A & M's and Duke's?
