We're letting people who will be OF AGE to vote in the general election have a say in the primary. What's the downside to it?

The 18-24 age group already suffers from low turnout. Lowering it a couple years would really serve very little purpose to either side. Much ado about nothing.

If one can vote in the general election, why should they not have the right to vote in the primary that helps select the candidate for their political party?

The only reason someone would be against this is if they are running for president and the demographic that is being allowed to vote would in majority vote against them.
