March 10, 201610 yr Garry Kasparov: Hey, Bernie, Don’t Lecture Me About Socialism. I Lived Through It. - The Daily Beast This is what we call a dismantling of Bernie's entire platform. I honestly laugh when anyone supports socialism. What it let's me know is you don't know history or economics so I question any degree you may have.
March 10, 201610 yr I'm a big fan of Kasparov's writings. His newest book has been on my list since it came out last year. Haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't know that I'd go quite so far as he does, but I do like the idea of turning not to Europe, but back to Theodore Roosevelt as an example of how to take on the "too big to fail" entities that were at the heart of the 2008-09 financial crisis and likely already paving the way to another. I don't see those politicians out there right now.

I honestly laugh when anyone supports socialism. What it let's me know is you don't know history or economics so I question any degree you may have. In a dismantling of Bernie's entire platform I was really expecting to see a discussion of his platform. I can't say I support a broad term like socialism, but I tend to lean to be fairly liberal, and on this site those words often might as well be synonyms. Since my degrees are now in question, can you help me figure out how the very notion of comparing the rise (not even the candidate) of Donald Trump to the rise of Hitler is "unintelligent" and "low brow," yet Bernie's ideology (with the democratic qualifier conveniently omitted) instantly turns American into Soviet Russia?

The exact reason their thinking will never win national positions. Just too darn self serving.
March 11, 201610 yr This is the way many millions think. More than don't I would imagine. These issues frame my thinking and voting, not economics.
March 11, 201610 yr Author It's very simple for the last two posters Bernie's ideas have been tried across this world and havery failed miserably everytime. Literally everytime. So yes I question your degrees if you ignore history and ignore economic fact. The meme in the last post doesn't relate . Helping starving children isn't what we are discussing. We are talking free healthcare and college education for everyone. Which any grown adult with common sense understands makes zero economic sense . To build on the point the Hitler analogy for Trump , which again I'm not a fan of Trump. That analogy assumes he wants dictatorship or I don't know Hitler wanted to kill a whole race of people , which assumes Trump wants to do that. We don't have to assume with Bernie he's a socialist and socialism is a failure literally throughout history and any economic model you want to produce.
March 11, 201610 yr Give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to fish, he can eat everyday. There is a fine line between helping someone on hard times, and supporting them IMO. This is intended for able body grown bums. This is the way many millions think. More than don't I would imagine. These issues frame my thinking and voting, not economics.

With all due respect, I've researched the term "democratic socialist" and from the info I can gather, there is absolutely no difference it and socialist.

It's hilarious to hear the Bernie supporters try and tell people Democratic Socialism is so much better than just Socialism . Sometimes I wonder if they even know what they support. In Democratic Socialism the government owns all means of production. In try to disguise itself as a free society by allowing democratic elections. But if the government controls all means of production there is no freedom and we are all truly serfs. Bernie Sanders ideology is 1000x more scary for this country than Trump. Sanders literally stands against everything that made America great and different from Europe.
March 12, 201610 yr If there's ever been a picture that depicts the need for reform, well this is it.

When someone compares ANY US politician to Hitler in ANY way, I immediately dismiss him or her as totally ignorant. Hitler literally had tens of millions people brutally executed. When someone casually throws around that a US politician is like Hitler to somehow demonize him for political reasons, it is really aggravating to me because it diminishes HOW BAD Hitler was. And I am not just talking about Trump. If someone compares Obama or Hillary to Hitler or Stalin, it makes me just as angry...
