South Oldham 81 Anderson County 44 (8th Region Championship)

Congratulations to Coach Simpson. Just gets it done. Terrific coach and a better person. Just happy for the kids. Great bunch. Good luck next week.

"Stevie Wonder" spins another classic hit! Good guy, good team, good performance and the right time. South rises again!

Coach Drury was hilarious at the 5:30 mark in the 4th quarter he gets up 5 subs and yelled down to Coach Simpson and the South Oldham bench and waived a white towel, and then sends his subs up to check in. I had never seen that is was great!

Are we sure that was in jest?

The way SO played tonight they have a shot @ winning more than a game next week. They go 8-9 deep and all can shoot, cut, drive, pass. Are they all seniors or what grades are they in? If they return guys they will be real dangerous again next year.

As an OC fan this yr much respect to SO. They WON that region

They won 3 years ago, lost 6 or 7 seniors and repeated the next season.

Don't know if it was in jest or not? I'd never seen a coach do that before I thought it was great way to say we tap out it's over.

What has happened to OldhamOldie nothing bad I hope he hasn't posted anything on this game?

I saw the AC coach yell over to the SO coach around the 6- 5:30 min mark and wave the white towel as to say, "stop, we're done, u can stop scoring now!" I'd never seen this before either. Kinda funny, no offense to the AC kids

It was fun covering this region this year. As I mentioned all year long, it has great history, coaches, players, and a host site that has been doing the region since 1963. South Oldham has captured 3 of the last 4, all as a runner up in their district. Coach Simpson does a remarkable job, and his kids must have worked really hard to get to where they are. They shoot so well, and make the extra pass, BUT I said it earlier they don't get enough credit for their defense. They got a lot of points of turnovers in that second quarter. They used that extended 2-3 zone and Anderson ran nothing against it all night, it really bothered Owen in the first round as well. Congrats to the Dragons and at Rupp next week!! You finally got a good draw! Tim Riley with a week to prepare vs. Simpson should be fun!

Yep, I posted that in the game update thread. I can't recall that big a swing between 2 teams where each blew the other out like that.

I also thought it was awesome I wonder if someone got it on tape it would be great to add it on here so others could see it. I thought it was hilarious, whether it meant it to be funny or not I thought it was.
