He will probably have felony charges.

Reality is he should have faced multiple felony charges while at Dixie, but a host of adults that knew better did everything they could to make a LOT of crap get flushed away. It was and still is a case of Entitlement 101. Zeke was allowed to live above the law in many situations long before he hit 18, and now he's in a full on spiral downward.

 

Sad in that you hate to see the end result, but what is to be expected given how we got to this point...

Just curious, but why would the school matter, even when you are from that school.

 

And FYI - I am not embarrassed about this one bit. I am sad for the family, but no one else. Zeke has solely been responsible for his actions/problems for a long time now. Yes maybe when he was young his parents did some things that may not have been in the best long term interest of Zeke, but when it is your child, sometimes you do things. IMO that ended long ago. Zeke solely is making his choices - albeit with a little help from the demons he has inside it seems.

Ok. Most of NKY knew the kid had issues. We all hoped he'd be ok but had our doubts. Go back an look at all of those schools recruiting him the first go round. Big time programs. After his trouble at AU, UL still took him. After UL, Murray took a chance after numerous run ins. All you need to know about college football is schools will always overlook 'off the field issues' if the talent is good enough.

That's true, but as a parent they should have never over looked it. If he were my son I would have never let him go to Murray. I don't care how much he wanted to get back to Football. If he wanted to play so bad it would have been at TMC or Mt. Saint Joe so I could keep a closer tab on him. Who knows maybe those teams wouldn't have taken him. The point is, is that his parents knew he had issue. Once an addict your always an addict and they should not have catered to him and let him go to Murray. He needed to be at home going to school and in therapy with a strong support system. Hope he gets the help he needs and is able to turn his life around.

By the way. A huge red flag for me as a parent would have been when his girlfriend ODed and killed herself.
