With Bezold at full strength, Holy Cross beat all 3, including Cooper at full strength, which we are not going to see in the regional unfortunately. Regardless of the outcome on tonight's district final, Holy Cross will be opposite CovCath, so depending on where NewCath winds up, with CovCath or Holy Cross, I certainly can see Holy Cross getting to the finals. In fact, I would say the draw tomorrow is more determinative of that than what happens tonight.

Cooper won't be at full strength. I'm a Cooper guy and know they will compete to the final buzzer - just can't see them having near enough firepower - even if McNeil comes back. Even if Hendrix plays, I believe his wrist will really limit him. Injuries are part of the game - really hard to see a potential regional tournament winner hit so hard so late in the season.

 

Obviously a lot depends on the draw. I think it's NCC or HC playing CCH for the right to go to Lexington. Newport has been and continues to be my sleeper.

 

IMO CCH is playing the best ball of any team in the area right now and will be the team to beat - regardless of draw.

IMO. Everyone else is playing for 2nd place behind CovCath. CovCath wins all 3 games by double digits.

Can't say that I disagree that things are looking good for the Blue Colonels, but more than anything else I'm looking forward to 7 more highly competitive games coming up at the B B & T.

 

Aside from the Sweet 16, for me nothing represents H.S. Basketball Heaven other than the 9th Region Tournament.

 

Looking back at its history of champions, though always no doubt deserving, so very often going in the ultimate winner is not a complete definite, and even some years the "definite" turned out not to be the ultimate winner.

 

At the risk of sounding cliche' - "That's why they play the game".
