Brackets For 10th Regional Tourney

Featured Replies

You'll know Saturday after the draw.

4 District Champions play 4 District Runner ups in the 1st round games. District Champion and Runner up from the same District on opposite end of the bracket.

The 8 teams are decided:

Campbell County

Scott

Harrison County

Pendleton County

Augusta

Mason County

Montgomery County

Paris

While the Scott/Brossart matchup was pretty much a tossup, it can be easily argued that the best two teams from each district will be there.

Agreed.

Should make for an entertaining Regional Tournament.

Solid field.

Agree. Really wouldn't be a complete surprise if any of these teams won the Regional. Everyone has had some highs and lows this year.

1st round March 2-3. Semifinals March 7, Finals March 8.

Are these dates set in stone or is this an educated guess?

Set in stone, unless Mother Nature has something to say about it. Begging she doesn't!

7 of 8 teams making a return trip to the tournament, with only Montgomery County replacing Bourbon County.

I'd be all for a few days of snow to set up a Saturday quarterfinal schedule like we had last year!

That sure would beat the hell out of having to drive to Mt. Sterling 4 times in one week. Tournament should be at the Fieldhouse (cough, cough)

I know I'm from Mason County, but for the fans it sure seems like a more central location like the Fieldhouse would be the best place (plus there have been games I'm not sure could have been played anywhere else but the Fieldhouse to accommodate all the fans).

Even if it's at the Fieldhouse, don't other schools get to be the "host" school? I would think from a pure money standpoint it just makes more sense. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

districts take turns as host. They choose the site. Money is still divided between the schools that qualify.

I've been following the 10th region for a few years now. I don't claim to know all the history and tradition like some people do. I have some friends who I turn to when I need answers in that department. With that being said, I have been able to make one conclusion that I stand firm on when it comes to the tenth. Every tenth region tournament game should start with "Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to The Fieldhouse." On top of the tradition it holds, it is bigger, IMO more comfortable, and I don't have to drive like Earnhardt going three wide at Daytona to get there on time. Move it to Maysville and be done with it.
