Superbowl of Scrimmages: Dixie vs. NCC

Featured Replies

Who will be attending this years match up of Dixie vs. NCC? And what do you see as the outcome.

Dixie won last season.

NCC the year before.

Me myself, I don't care about the W, but want to see the O clicking against a quality opponent. Our D should be very good, though I suspect that it will give up a few plays here and there due to all the shuffling for evaluation. I expect it will be a great day to watch a football game as usuall.:thumb:

Superbowl of Scrimmages? I love your enthusiasm Sandman, I really do...

I won't be attending this one, but I did see NCC play SK last weekend. NCC won 26-14 (In the 3 qtrs the varsity played). In the first half NCC looked rusty, SK was up 14-12, but one of the td's by NCC was an int return. In the second half NCC opened it up and manhandled SK. I'm not sure on the names at this point, but the qb (#14) and the rb (#7) looked very good once NCC got playing.

It's a long time joke on BGP. This "game" has been a major point of info on both teams in the past...

Sorry. I'm a rookie... Seriously though, I am amazed at the group's enthusiasm. It's fun to watch!

I am going but with these two teams it is hard to figure a scrimmage. I will say NCC looked very good last week.

This is the game all of NKY awaits in the preseason. This matchup up has it all: 4A vs. 1A, Campbell vs. Kenton, public vs. private. (Sounds a bit like the SK/NewCath matchup...)

How can it get any better?

I'll take Dixie by a td.

For those of us who cannot attend, please supply us with a good description of the game. And for the life of me, do NOT tell me Dixie is going to surprise people this year.

I heard tickets are on going for $5.50 on EBay. Get'em while they're hot.

So if NCC beats Dixie and NCC beat SK last week in a scrimmage, Highlands and CCH will be a good game?

The interception touchdown was made by Junior, Brian Wrobleski, #47.

What I would like to know--does Sting mean the above statement (the "In the second half NCC opened it up . . . ." as in--opened up the offense--or opened up owning the game?

I only ask because--from my view point--NCC had a hard time moving the ball through the air. Where as in the 2nd half--they moved the ball down the field with the run (exclusively).

So--if this scrimmage is treated like a real game . . . . will Dixie stuff the run and try to get NCC to throw the ball?

As I have said in earlier posts (on other subjects) stop the run . . . . . . the rest could/should take care of itself.

The QB for NCC is #14 Jarred Harris and the RB for NCC is #7 Michael Vicars.

NCC looked like a different team in the 3rd quarter of last weekends scrimmage. Like QS stated, they ran on almost every play of the 3rd quarter and they were very successful, should be a good test for both teams.

The one thing I do want to say--I think that Simon Kenton had a lot to do with how the first half went for NCC (meaning--they are good at stopping the pass). What I don't know (and this isn't meant to be a shot at SK)--would it be any different if NCC would have used the run more in the 1st half of the scrimmage?

My answer: ?

The NCC offense works best when the run is used to set up the pass or the pass is used to set up the run. And when I say run--that means the RB's and the QB running game (which was non-existent Saturday).

What will happen to NCC if a team shuts down the run?

Maybe Dixie will answer that question this week. If not--then it will be a tough road to hoe for the Superbowl Scrimmage championship.
