How does the "quality win" thing work when the NCAA committee meets to seed the brackets?

Since North Carolina is rated top 5 and Duke beat them at the Dean Dome, and Duke has lost by double digits to Kentucky........well....

plus, Kentucky played highly rated Kansas to OT in Allen FH...does the committee factor in those type results?

It really was. They'd dribble dribble dribble and then shoot a bad and unnecessary shot. Duke had little answer for UNC in the paint and UNC shot contested jumpers down the stretch.

I loved it.

Playing not to lose instead of playing to win. Roundball's version of prevent defense.

How Brice doesn't see the ball hardly at all the last 10 minutes is beyond me.

Poor coaching.

Roy will be hammered for not calling a timeout in the last possession and he should. I understand not calling it right away and hopefully getting something, but when it was more than obviously with about 8-9 seconds left and the ball was stuck with Jackson (I think) at the free throw line, Roy should absolutely have called a TO.

That loss is definitely on Roy. Great win for Duke though.

I haven't watched as much college bball this year as I usually do, besides Kentucky. But I was really impressed with how much better of a player Luke Kennard seems since earlier this year. Kid is going to be a very nice piece for Duke over the next couple of years. I like his game and his potential.

Obviously Roy thought he had a better chance to win w/o calling TO.............Simply try to let athletes pull it out............instead of match wits with KDOG........

No other way to put it. I called timeout but the refs didn't hear me. I understand calling a TO also gives the Duke the chance to set up something defensively, but you have to give yourself a chance. Carolina played to not lose instead of win last night and it bit them. Outside of Brice Johnson, nobody really did anything. Oh well, gotta move forward from here. But unless this teams learns to play consistent D they'll be a sweet 16 team and nothing more.

I woke up this morning and thumbed through Facebook and when I came across my memories for today they included some form of the thought, "What was UNC thinking?" in regards to the UNC/Duke game at Cameron (I think) last season. Could this be the start of a trend?

UNC should have won the last three games but Roy was doing Roy things.

Kennard was very clutch last night. Hit some shots just when Duke needed them - when it looked like it might be slipping away. Pretty impressive for a freshman in his first rodeo at the hostile Dean Dome...

Ingram just freaking took over during that 3 minute span, when he turns it on he is just so freaking good...

I know his shooting stats were not good...but I LOVE his game. The dude plays with such aggressiveness and confidence. Just attacks the defense. Fun to watch...

Guys... You won this one... Carolina will get the rematch..... Hopefully

If Carolina cant get Duke this year, it's a bad sign going forward....

I hate agreeing with Duke fans, but you're absolutely right.
