February 16, 201610 yr Sorry to thread-jack but If I may, I'll use this as an opportunity to say that Kanye West's "performance" on SNL the other night was out of this world ridiculous. Paying it any attention at all enough to say how talentless it was almost feels like an insult to my intelligence. Also, wasn't overwhelmed as it appears that many were about Kendrick Lamar on the Grammy's either. Sure, he can remember a lot of words, and was intense in delivering them, but rattling off annoying rapid fire wordage that (OK I'm slow) I can't keep up with, and am not interested enough to keep up with after it starts getting on my nerves after about 5 seconds, is not to me a demonstration of talent. Everyone has their taste I suppose, and though I'm not big on Justin Bieber, at least he's singing a tune with a melody that isn't half bad. Wife and I had a "discussion" the other day when his newest #1 song came on the radio for the fourth time during our trip to Lexington and back. Wife said the song was really good. I said it was a piece of fluff demonstrating a singing range of four notes. Nobody kept official score, but since she's the wife, she may have won.
February 16, 201610 yr The Beatles Cannot question their greatness, but I hate the Beatles. People had Zeppelin and the Stones and actually chose to listen to that boy band crap.
February 16, 201610 yr Thought of this while watching Adele sing on the Grammys. Incredibly talented singer yet does ZERO for me from a enjoyment factor. Yours? Again, this is someone/group you recognize has talent but you just don't get into them. Difference between singer and entertainer.
February 16, 201610 yr Adele, I immediately turn the station when I hear one note. Same for Mariah Carey.
February 16, 201610 yr Cannot question their greatness, but I hate the Beatles. People had Zeppelin and the Stones and actually chose to listen to that boy band crap. They made about five albums that could be in a serious argument for best album of all time. But, yeah, boy band crap.
February 16, 201610 yr They made about five albums that could be in a serious argument for best album of all time. But, yeah, boy band crap. Can't argue with that. Just have never been interesting to me. Too much like pop in comparison to the other bands of the era for my taste.

February 16, 201610 yr Can't argue with that. Just have never been interesting to me. Too much like pop in comparison to the other bands of the era for my taste. Though their early stuff was great, it indeed was poppy, but once they spread their songwriting wings they evolved well past... "She Loves You Yeah Yeah Yeah" kinda stuff. Are you sure that you're not comparing their early work with stuff like Zeppelin, because a few short years brought a world of difference in the sound from the mid 60's to the late 60's?
February 16, 201610 yr They made about five albums that could be in a serious argument for best album of all time. But, yeah, boy band crap. I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be sarcasm, and I certainly hope that I'm reading it right, and that it is.
