UL SID says Jurich is not talking to USC.

It would certainly be a good time for him to take it. On the other hand, with USC's squeaky clean reputation, why would they take a chance on him? Ah nevermind.

 

So what I'm seeing is Jurich goes to USC, to provide proper leadership and keep the athletic department out of trouble. Pitino heads to UNLV, where prostitution is legal.

 

Makes perfect sense to me. But where does that put Ramsey? He already has the title of President, why not reach for the starts and enter the election?

He has some clothes that should work in Mexico.

It would be a good hire for USC. Good spot for Jurich also, as great as Louisville athletics have been under his watch, he could take USC to another level not attainable here.

Jurich is a L.A. guy, he will have to answer to people there. His Czar-like operation will need to be adjusted, he will not be able to control the media like he does in Louisville.

 

SC needs to get out there family tree for their next hire. Jurich might be a good fit.

I'd think now is a good time to get out of Louisville. Not sure that many people would consider Jurich considering his past. The job market has to be slim.

Savvy recruiters have got to be jumping on this timing to land Jurich (and Pitino). Not surprised at all if more offers don’t come their way.

USC is a VERY tough job, lot of distractions in the City of Angels and that campus could not be in a worse area. Aside from Mike Garrett being a clown and Pat Haden horribly unqualified for the job, there are extenuating circumstances that have aided their struggles under their watchful eyes.

 

To paint a contrary point to the litany of posters above me, I think it is a terrible time for Jurich to leave. He has his #1 program on the rocks right now, and to leave looks like he abandoning the ship at their moment of need. Really bad look, in my opinion. Jurich has earned the right to do whatever he wants, but as one of (if not THE) the highest paid AD's in America, he has a very good situation in the Ville which would be hard to leave.

 

He has done so much good for Louisville (the city AND the university), I'd hate to see his last move be exiting stage left as MBB dangles in the wind with the NCAA.

 

Hope he stays, rides the wave through the Pitino stuff, and makes the next hire. Then, when everything is solid footing, leave for a really GOOD job if he is hankering for a change, not a dumpster fire in Watts.
