With his physical running style and how much trouble he has staying healthy these days, this is a wise move. He probably had maybe about 16-20 games of quality play left on the odometer. Fun guy to watch.

That's the ideal situation for the NFL. Come to the league, make some plays, get a big check and get out early so fresh (cheap) guys can come in behind you.
