Beechwood edged Highlands 53-50 in a great game. Tied at 23 at halftime the Birds cane out strong in 2nd half leading by as many as 7.

Some suspect calls in the 4th Qtr favored the Beechies helping them claw back and tie the game.

With the ball and 30 sec left tied at 50 the Tiger's Zac Deatherage attempted a floater with 5 seconds left. Highlands Nate Roberts rejected it out of bounds. A nice inbound play to Baugh gave him am open look. Highlands Ben Sisson clearly blocked the shot but the ref felt he had his hand on the body. Tough call to make with 3 seconds left but the referee in question whistled the Birds a ton in the 4th. Baugh made both to put Beechies up 52-50. Roberts threw the ball out of bounds attempting a long pass with 3 seconds left eventually spelling doom for the Birds.

I was very impressed with both teams tonight. Jefferson is strong getting g to the rim and has exceptionally quick hands. Schilling and Draud hit some big 3's as well.

On Highlands side, Grady Cramer shot the 3 very well. Preston Scholl the wide body came off the bench and had a whale of a 2nd half. Roberts did his thing scoring and Aubry Posey handled the PG position extremely well. They have some nice athletes who played with fire tonight. Hopefully they carry that over to Summer ball.

Congrats to the Tigers as they have a nice shot at getting to the finals.

Draud's shot is a windup from the hip. Holdback 7th Grader needs to get stronger with the ball and learn to shoot above his head.

He hit a couple nice 3's from way out.
