2019 Jack Kaelin NKY Freshman Invitational Tourney

Featured Replies

Will he have to sit out next year when he is at NCC? Wait, if he is only an 8th grader he should be good to go....That is the Destination next year from what I'm hearing. I wonder if any follow him? Is the McGuire kid from Newport an 8th grader?

McGuire is a freshman. He's not going anywhere.

Ok then what is your guess...

As I said a few days ago, he is not playing in the FR game.

McGuire is a 8th grader too. he will not leave Beechwood

I think there is a Mcguire at Newport as well as at Beechwood, although I could be mistaken.

Holy Cross over Beechwood and CovCath over Walton ..... It'll be a 35th district regional final, sort of, Holy Cross v CovCath Monday night.

Walton has a nice team. CovCath's deeper bench allowed them to withstand some foul trouble. I'm sure the Walton faithful feel most of the 50/50 calls didn't go their way.

It would be a great match up on a neutral court. There is no doubt that calls went the Home team's way.

Congratulations to Cov Cath. They were well coached & the ball bounced their way tonight. Congratulations to Walton on a great season & congratulations to Beechwood as well. I think this class of freshmen, those present & those not, (from several schools) could have a big impact on NKY high school basketball over the next few years.

I thought Cov Cath going zone in the second half when WV made their run was the difference.

Fleek had a nice 3rd and Coldiron had a nice 4th.

I'm told this Walton class is also strong in football.

Any scores from tonight's games?

Holy Cross 46-Beechwood 43, not sure of th CovCath-Walton score but I think it wound up an 8 point difference with Walton making an uncontested layup at the buzzer.

Free throws was Waltons problem last night

That's one of the perks of hosting the tournament. Our own home floor & our own refs. :D

Just kidding, obviously. Congrats to both teams. Sounds like Walton has some great young talent, I look forward to watching them progress over the next several years.

They did miss some free throws in the first quarter but after that I thought they were good from the line after that.

Anyone have free throw stats for both teams?
