I would like to see a college course or research on formation of conspiracy theories. It boggles my mind that presumably sane, intelligent people get pulled into actually believing some of the conspiracy theories. I have as much if not more trouble understanding the people who believe in the conspiracy theories as I do the original perpetrators of these crimes.

Nothing on the internet can be faked so I'm sure all those photos and facebook pages are 100% legit.

You beat me to it. Some of the dumbest stuff I've ever read in my life.

I don't know who people think they are anymore. It's depressing that this happened.

Sad, this has happened to others from Sandy Hook as well as other people who lost loved ones in other shootings.

I am the absolute opposite of a conspiracy guy (it just takes too many people to be in on it and someone would always blab) and do believe there were kids killed that day. I also agree with Ref on this that there are things about Sandy Hook that are puzzling. That medical examiner was one weird dude and the one father's behavior right after was bizarre. The stuff about the Facebook pages being opened before it happened should be easy to dispel by tech guys. My guess is they have. If not, that would be real interesting. While I believe it happened, you are not a "nut job" just want to have relatively simple questions answered. Maybe they have all been answered as I have not spent any time worrying about it.

And even if authorities were to directly answer these questions, the folks asking them likely wouldn't believe the answers anyway, and would come up with a whole series of questions to ask to address the answers. You can't argue or reason with a conspiracy theorist.

The Sandy Hook conspiracy gets about as much credence from me as the "Burning jet fuel cant melt steel beams" conspiracy. Nothing more than fodder for people to chew on until the next tragic event occurs, and a new conspiracy is born.

 

That being said, our governments long history of deception and sweeping details under the rug, which spans administrations from both party's, has only helped give conspiracy theorists more traction and a larger following.
