January 10, 201610 yr Just back from my youngest granddaughter's 1st birthday party. We had fried chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes, Waldorf salad, yummy orange jello fruit something or another, chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. SoCo food in Indiana.
January 10, 201610 yr My son and I have been sick so we had homemade chicken and rice soup. My husband made the best coconut cream pie. I ate 3 pieces.

My grandmother used to make that stuff and it was one of my favorite things. Nobody makes it anymore, though.

Sometimes I will make a healthier version and use some really strong chicken broth I have made to wilt it with. We have it all the time in the spring and fall when I have fresh lettuce out of the garden. Also try taking the gravy/broth from chicken and dumplings and wilt the lettuce....sounds strange, but it is really good.
January 10, 201610 yr Tonight I fried pork chops and pepper jack cheese (in panko breadcrumbs), mashed potatoes, baked apples, and crescent rolls.
January 10, 201610 yr Family time at Salvadore's in Erlanger. House salad for 4 was like a meal. Awesome breadsticks. Also got the Buffalo Chicken Dip appetizer. I did not eat pizza, but we brought home lots of leftovers---and hey it's almost time for breakfast. :thumb:
January 11, 201610 yr Author Thin sliced yellow squash, zucchini, mushrooms and red peppers served over rice. Topped with a thin flash-fried boneless chicken breast and a generous pile of Gordon's cheese dip.
