Free Agent that Bengals Cannot Let Get Away......

Featured Replies

According to CBS Sports......

CB Adam Jones: He might be the best cover slot corner in the NFL and is a dervish on special teams. Even on a team with so many key pending free agents -- Marvin Jones, Leon Hall, Mohamed Sanu, Andrew Smith, Reggie Nelson, George Iloka -- I'm making Jones a priority. He's older but playing his best football ever and his example in turning his life around resonates positively in that locker room. Plus, that secondary is already a little suspect right now compared to some other position groups on this roster.

He says the secondary is a little suspect but half of the secondary are playing for a contract. That includes Jones and his turnaround is ummm suspect.

I like Jones as a football player but he can leave as soon as his contract is over and never come back, I'd be ok with that.

Reggie Nelson.

Reggie Nelson.

Reggie is going to have to take a hometown discount or I fear he is gone.

I would let Iloka walk.

I agree on Jones, Sanu, and Pacman.

Hall at the right price and maybe Smith at the right price.

Gonna have to let Dennard play sometime.

My order:

1. M. Jones

2. Nelson

3. A Jones

4. Sanu

5. Iloka

6. Hall

7. Smith

8. McCarron healthy extension and salary. Doubt he'd

take it but I'd try.

Reggie Nelson.

Making 5 mil now, not sure Bengals will go to 7-8 million range he probably will get. Really it is all about guaranteed $$, though.

Bengals typically pay from play and performance bonuses. Not a lot of guaranteed They pay top $$ there, but if you don't perform you don't get as much of the big bucks. Really depends if Reggie wants to roll the dice.

My order:

1. M. Jones

2. Nelson

3. A Jones

4. Sanu

5. Iloka

6. Hall

7. Smith

I agree almost completely with you. I would move Nelson down to 6 though just because I think his price tag will be to high and we would need the money to sign are other guys.

My priority:

Marvin Jones

Adam Jones

Sanu

Reggie Nelson

That is EXACTLY how I feel.................about Leon Hall.

Additionally, I clearly like Iloka more than most of you.

I don't see any way Andre Smith is back.

I think they keep the two WR's, one of the safeties, and Pac Man.

^What about Hall is it that irks you??

Marvin Jones is the only must resign IMO.

First and foremost, I don't think he is all that good any more. Secondly, he is old and oft-injured. Third, I don't know how to describe it, but something about him and way he carries himself on and off the field rubs me wrong. Smugness would be the best description. Darn Michigan elitism.

First person I've ever heard describe him as smug. Never experienced anything close to that in the handful of times I've interacted with him.

I do agree on the football part though. Dude is closer to being done, then he should be to a new contract.

I don't buy the comment that the Bengals secondary is suspect. Nelson is in the Pro Bowl. Iloka was considered one of the better safeties in the league early in the year before injuries hit him. Hall is solid in the role they have him in. I really like what I have seen out of Williams, Shaw and Dennard. The only one I question is Kirkpatrick because he makes too many big mistakes.

Jones as a football player is exactly why he should be brought back.
