Sara Moore, 35, was charged with 10 counts of sexual battery involving an underage victim. Police identified her as a “paraprofessional employee” of the school. Moore’s specific job title was not immediately released. The victim’s parents told investigators that their suspicious were piqued in mid-November when they found a 12-pack of condoms in their son’s room, an Osceola County affidavit said. The boy’s parents found text messages he’d sent to Moore from his younger sister’s cell phone on Dec. 31, the affidavit said. On Jan. 1, the victim’s parents took his cell phone and found Instagram messages, including one where the boy allegedly told Moore that, “I don’t want you for a mom; I want you.” When the boy’s parents confronted him Saturday, he broke down in tears and admitted he’d had sex with Moore between 15 and 25 times, the affidavit said. The two met about a year ago at St. Cloud Middle School, where the victim was a student, the affidavit said. Investigators obtained a search warrant for Moore’s SUV, where they reportedly found a towel with “biological fluids” believed to have come from the victim on it. When contacted by investigators, Moore admitted knowing the victim and said she viewed him as “an adopted son,” the affidavit said. She initially agreed to take a lie detector test concerning the allegations against her, but later reportedly told investigators that she needed to talk to her husband first. Moore refused to give officers a DNA sample, the affidavit said. She was arrested on the sexual battery charges and was being held without bond at the Osceola County Jail.
