January 6, 201610 yr Absolutely, and I said as much in the threads back when that happened. What the hell does that have to do with anything though?? Your post, at least to me, implied that you felt the protesters in Oregon should be arrested or charged, just gauging if the same sentiment held for the BLM protesters that shut down highways. Maybe not you specifically but there were people on here that justified the Occupiers and the BLMers criminal actions because they agreed with the cause.
January 6, 201610 yr Do people work? Who the hell has time to join a "militia" and take over an abandoned building. Or, who has the time to protest Kim Davis for weeks at the courthouse. Who are these people?

People may not like my stances, but I'm almost always consistent. It cuts both ways though. There are quite a few that have pretty much said they have no issue with what these guys are doing, but they were screaming about how the BLM protesters were criminals.
January 6, 201610 yr It appears to me there are two groups in Oregon. There are the Hamptons who are at odds with the USBLM, but they are not the people who are occupying the federal facility although this group is doing this in sympathy for the Hamptons... and in a greater sense for the plight of all ranchers versus the USBLM.
January 6, 201610 yr Someone asked why these type events are happening: It is the result of frustration with an over-reaching government agency with too much power. It is not in the culture of the typical American to be obedient at all costs. Otherwise we would still be part of England. Also, where are we going to immigrate to avoid bad government? Protesting while armed is a bad idea, as it won't serve to foster support for their cause. Lastly, I get the impression that all of the Oregon protestors have some "skin in the game"...ie. they have ranching/land interests that are at odds with the USBLM. On the other hand, other protests, while maybe important causes, are filled out with a lot of people whose livelihood is activism....meaning attending protests like rock concerts.

I don't think the guy from Phoenix has "any skin in the game" for the protest. http://www.buzzfeed.com/nicolasmedinamora/one-of-the-oregon-occupiers-has-a-history-of-anti-muslim-pro#.mleWb941L0
January 6, 201610 yr Do people work? Who the hell has time to join a "militia" and take over an abandoned building. Or, who has the time to protest Kim Davis for weeks at the courthouse. Who are these people? Democrat scumbags who suckle at the government teat, in the second case. As for the first case, I don't know.

Who are these people? Not to speak of these cases but when I was a union VP, we used to pay our members to take time off from work if needed for picketing or campaigning or whatnot.
