January 9, 201610 yr So I finished this today and I was almost welling up in tears at the end. That last hike was incredible story-telling. One of the best adventure books I have ever read. A great story. I've read it a couple of times.

I'm reminded of Tolkien's Sam Gamgee reflecting on great "adventures". And how the characters in them probably weren't that excited to be in the middle of them at the time. But they make the best stories.

Except did not care much for that last one I read. My favorite Jack Reacher books are the ones where he reconnects with his old Military Police contacts.
January 12, 201610 yr Finished Baldacci's "The Guilty". Totally enjoyed it!!! If you are a Baldacci fan, you will love it. Next up is James Patterson's "Murder House". Also---I now LOVE reading on my Kindle. Actually, it's my 8-yr-old's Kindle. :sssh: I love reading in the dark in the car or in bed and not having to disturb anyone.
