To say it is a bit strange is an understatement. I treat it as a place I go to get away from this world for 30 minutes every other week, because Night Vale is not like any other place on this planet. I imagine the book to be of the same weirdness.

January 15, 201610 yr ^ Better that I thought. Slightly fictionalized account of George Mallory, who died trying to reach the summit of Everest in 1924. His body was found in 1999, and there is still some debate over whether or not he reached the top (was last seen 600-800 feet from the top). He was the guy who famously replied, "Because it's there", when asked why he was trying.
January 15, 201610 yr Author I enjoyed the first one in this series. Probably 3.5 out of 5 stars. Started this one the other night and will read the 3rd one after that. The 4th installment comes out the 25th of this month, so I'm hoping to have them all knocked out by the end of the month.
January 15, 201610 yr Finished a book called "The Secret Game." http://www.amazon.com/The-Secret-Game-Wartime-Basketballs/dp/0316244619 True story. WWII era. North Carolina all black college team plays the Duke Medical School basketball team which was made up of D1 college players. Interesting read. Really good background info into the era. The movie rights were just sold.

January 15, 201610 yr The Secret of Golf (The Story of Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus) by Joe Posnanski I received that for Christmas as well, tho I've yet to start. Poz is fantastic (started at Cincinnati Post). Expecting it to be great.
