Denver 20 Cincinnati 17 OT

Featured Replies

Bengals don't get 2 seed simply of KC wins. No matter what Denver is the 2 seed of they win next week. Now if Denver loses Bengals get the 2 seed if they win, or they can lose and get it as long as KC wins and Denver lost.

Okay... Cool. Tough, but possible

McCarron is having an MRI on his left wrist today. Injured it on the final play. Who's the third-stringer? :lol2:

Similar to Arizona, played well enough to win but couldn't seal the deal. AJ showed some promise but also showed his inexperience at critical times. Need to get everyone healed up for the post season.

Haven't read through the thread yet, but will here in a few minutes.

Seems like the Broncos made adjustments at half time and the Bengals didn't, nor did they talk about the adjustments that Denver were probably going to make.

Frustrating to lose that one after how good they looked on the first couple of drives and basically the whole first half.

Don't figure on Denver losing to the Bronco's so the Baltimore game is pretty meaningless, isn't it? If so I'm sitting anyone who's banged up at all and getting them healthy for the playoffs.

Definitely. McCarron is awful. Did you watch tonight? Did you watch last week? He is a game manager, not NFL QB.

75% of the QBs in the NFL are game managers or just bad. So for a backup QB, I'd take being called a game manager a compliment instead of an insult. Alex Smith is a game manager and he's having a great year.

Ehh, you would think they'd win, but Rivers and the Chargers usually give them a bit of trouble at least once each season. I think you play your guys if you're the Bengals. The bye is too important for them not to IMO.

Sanu...Wildcat Offense all game!

:lol2: That's probably a better option than the 3rd-stringer in all honesty.

Crazy how sports work if Green doesn't stop running and makes the TD catch on McCarrons beautiful toss, were probably talking about QB controversy right now. Instead it's just the Bengals being the Bengals and McCarron is a solid game managing back up.

Really frustrating loss.

Denver's defense is legit and they turned it on in the second half. They couldn't get a pass rush in the first half and playing man coverage gave our receivers opportunities on some toss-up balls. Their switch to zone in the second half neutered McCarron, especially since they were getting a rush. You have to pick apart a zone and there was no time to find windows, he was having to throw balls away to avoid sacks a lot in the second half. That continually left us with third and longs when they were third and shorts in the first half.

Our defense got gassed in the second half. Denver came out in the no huddle and moved quickly. The score by Anderson was the worst play of the game for our D. Owen Daniels bailed Denver out with a couple of plays he probably didn't have any business making ten years ago, especially a crucial third and ten. Thomas's one-handed catch was a back-breaker too.

I want to find the silver lining here, but it was just frustrating. I feel like we can play with anybody, but playing with anybody and beating anybody is a big gap.

That's surprising. I thought he looked sheepish going after the ball like he didn't want to get hurt. And he still gets hurt? Maybe it was from that play earlier where he came off the field for a play before they burned the timeout.

McCarron even said it happened on the last play.

The Bengals looking bad against the zone once again is the fault of their conservative play calling. It was run, run, then have third and long. So then Denver then knew a pass was coming and was able to use its best pass rush in the league to create no time for McCarron. In the first half the Bengals mixed it up but the second half they got conservative.

I been saying for awhile now and last night has me still believing it. McCarron hasn't shown me any reason not to believe he will be a very good starting NFL qb. In his limited time playing in pre season and these past few games he has shown he can make all the throws. He also has shown the moment is not to big for him. I don't think nerves had anything to do with him dropping that snap, he just took his eye off the ball. As his own teammates said about him doing training camp, he has the "it" factor.

Now this doesn't mean at this point of time he gives them a better chance to win than Dalton. With Dalton he has a quicker release which helps hide the o lines poor pass blocking. Not to mention he has earned the trust of Lewis and Lewis won't make the Bengals play as conservative with him. So right now for those reasons Dalton still gives them the better chance.
