Answer - My health insurance costs as much as my mortgage. ACA really sticks it to the middle class.

 

2-3 years ago I would have had better coverage for about half the cost.

At any point we give something for Free, then the tax payers pay. Regardless of what it is or who gives it. Anytime something new is given or passed that requires money which we pay. Its simple. If we give or subsidize health care, then everyone who pays taxes or pays for the Health Insurance or whatever it is thats being given, will pay either higher taxes or higher premiums.

I guess I am bleeding heart liberal, but ACA insured the folks that work. Those who are living off of tax payers already had free health care, and ACA did not create that. I think many of us get that confused.

The problem is HC that the insurance they now have and can afford is mostly useless in many cases. If you have to meet a $3K-$5K deductible for a family, barring a major surgery or injury, it will never be met. This nullifies any advantage.

 

Another deception to the "number insured" is the number that were placed on Medicare. While the Left touts KY as a major victory for the ACA, they fail to point out that over 80% of those insured in KY were placed on Medicare. Again, it's a drain on the system versus complimenting the system.

My insurance costs more now and is worse coverage. My doctor tells me its destroying health care. My wifes doctor retired. She had to find a new one. Said he would not deal with that mess. Both were liberals. Mine says he will vote for Trump now, lol.

If the Republicans can get control of Congress and the Presidency, they will eliminate ACA (so they can check the box and get Obama's name off it), and then turn around and put something similar in place.

Correct. It's a myth that the GOP wants to eliminate the ACA, they just want their name attached to it, or something similar to it.

We are paying the costs somewhere. Either on the front end with our premiums or at the hospital because hospitals are stuck with so many people who have no coverage.

I'm speaking completely selfishly but since ACA I'm very much less likely to go to the doctor. My premiums have been fairly flat but my deductibles and co-pays have gone through the roof. Obama flat out lied about affordability but hey, I'm a single white male with no kids, I now have full birth control pill coverage.

It actually all makes sense. If you are a woman (with the right body parts) but identify yourself as a man, you are officially a man in the PC world we live in. Therefore, a man may very well need birth control pill coverage...Keep up with the times All Tell...

Legally we must pay for an unaffordable service or else be treated like Surfs yield a tax to the King.

 

The way the unaffordable service wil be sold is through ultra-high deductables. So you will have to pay - twice. The insurance and the deductible.

 

Since many of the components were pushed out (illegally) the real expensive elements have been pushed out. Things will worse by 2017. The state exchanges will be the canaries in the coal mine.

Agreed, but many in DC want to kill it without offering a solution first, so they can do what they do best in DC, which is nothing.

 

We talk about Obama and Bush with their approval ratings, Bush was at 34% when he left office, but that number towers over the approval rating for congress, but no one wants to vote out their own congressman or senator.

I agree that working people need to be able to get the care they require but I disagree that I should be paying much more for my coverage in order to subsidize their Obamacare premiums. Chances are, that with the ridiculous deductibles and co-pays associated with Obamacare, these folks cannot afford to pay those costs if or when they need care. So they use their insurance card to receive the care, but cannot afford to pay the invoice when they are billed by the provider. Ergo, we are in the same position we were in before. The provider gets stiffed for the bill or those who receive no subsidies on their premiums get hit with even higher premiums and higher deductibles next year to make up for these added losses.
