That article makes entirely too much sense.

Yes it does, hence the reason no replies......

I think we've seen in a few threads recently, the author is spot on.

Very good article. Well thought out and written.

The reason there are no replies is that the anti-gun posters can't argue his logic. Also, the article is from the Washington Post. Not really a bastion of the Right.

Not all us "libtards" are anti gun.

Some of us libtards have jobs and other reponsibilities that don't allow us to sit waiting for the next thread to pop up, breathlessly waiting to reply.

This libtard was going to read the article and look forward to discussing it. But, I think I'll skip it. It's apparent no real discussion is wanted unless it's a libtard capitulation. Why bother?

Just for the record no one had called anyone that in this thread.

Who called you a "libtard"?

Did I miss something? Why are you throwing around that term?

The number one and by far the biggest reason that I am against banning any currently legal firearm is that in this knee jerk society that we live in it won't stop with one.

Terrorist Shooting with an AR/AK type firearm...Ban all AR/AKs...they are gone

then

Va Tech type Shooting with Glock pistols...Ban all Semi-Auto Pistols...they are gone

then

Columbine type shooting with a Shotgun...Ban all Shotguns...they are gone

then

Lunatic sniper with a hunting rifle...Ban all hunting rifles...they are gone

then

Man shoots wife and kids with a revolver...Ban all revolvers...they are gone

That is exactly where this goes, IMO, if we start banning and or making ownership of any currently legal firearm illegal. Each event will lead to further and further infringement of our rights as law abiding gun owners til all that will exist will be non-law abiding gun owners.

It's what inevitably gets worked in. Just taking it head on.

Please, no name calling, and I don't care if it has been a past practice or not, no name calling.

And for our Liberal Posters I would like to hear your argument and/or fault with that article and/or the logic of the article?

For the record, I think the article did a fine job of explaining things in pretty simple terms. We need to concentrate on the bad guys and bad girls, not "bad guns."

Everyone here seemed to be trying to have a reasonable discussion until you all came in calling yourselves "libtards" as if someone insulted you.

I'm interested in everyone's take on the article.

Anything that I could offer would be soundly dismissed. In the end, we just disagree.
