Pendleton County 73 Augusta 67

Sounded like a good one!! Just shows the parity in the 10th.

Impressive wildcats. I cannot wait until Allen's a senior, that kid's gonna be out of this world. Would be very disappointed if I wore black and orange, this was a game A-Town really needed to win imo. Fear and Loathing in Augusta.

Pretty much as I predicted. Augusta had no answer for Allen. Disappointing loss for them at home but they'll bounce back.

Surprise for me to see how Pendleton's point #13 Woods was such a great floor general. Quickest kid on the floor with ability to penetrate and shoot floater, but finding open man time after time. Augusta adjusted to 2-1-2 trap at half and kept in check throughout 3rd. Browning hit bomb after bomb (5 or 6) to stretch lead to 11. Kirk then put on press and got Augusta back into game, but the Panthers missed to many in the paint and from the line to pull this one out.

Dontae Allen was a smooth beast and plays at another level. IMO he probably will not play at Pendleton past his soph. year. Expect to see him at a prep and high level D1.

BGP...the 10th has a ton of teams capable of making a regional run.

Hats off to PCHS. They put together a great team effort tonight and came out on top. Augusta had chances but could never get "over the hump". Dante Allen is the best player I've seen this year. Smooth, doesn't force anything and makes his teammates better in the process.

Dontaie Allen with 26...all in the flow of the game. Big 4th quarter from him and Wade Browning, too. Both teams absolutely battled the whole 32 minutes. Even when PC was up 12-13 points, it felt closer than that. Maddox leads all with 27.

Pendleton County played pretty solid defense tonight, which has been an area of concern from what I've seen this year. On the offensive end, the Wildcats hit some 3's and moved the ball well. Dontaie Allen had a very good game and Wade Browning hit a lot of big shots.

Augusta seemed very lethargic for much of the game. They did not seem to have the same intensity that I saw them have against Bracken County last week. Connor Maddox had a nice game, and I liked what Chris Staggs brought off the bench.

Very good crowd tonight. Augusta is my favorite gym to watch a regular season game.

Better than Crawford?

Credit to PC in this one. Very steady team that always seem to hit the big shots they needed while the Panthers struggled to hit shots in the the same situations. Regardless of the outcome, good early test for both squads. On the broadcast I let my frustration get the best of me when we attacked the basket and came up empty in points and fouls. My apologies to anyone listening that got tired of me whining. I'll make sure I do a better job tomorrow night. Back to the game, Dontaie Allen is as advertised. He does a nice job of not forcing but when he gets it, something exciting just might happen. And Hunter Wood is one of the most underrated point guards in the region IMO. These two teams could certainly meet again down the road.

Now I'm gonna have to listen to the podcast!

Well I will say this, there are parts of it that are very entertaining. Despite the loss, we had a good time. Way too early in the season to treat it like it's the end of the world.

Quagmire, did not hear your comments because I was at the game. But my Panther eyes saw three referees that called three different type games. Ref #1 called the silliest tic-tac fouls out front that needlessly impaired the flow of the game. Ref#2 allowed mugging in the paint that borderlined on felonious assault. Ref#3 was a lost ball in high weeds constantly looking at the other two to bail him out. As the former worst ref in Ky High School history I hesitated to make these comments, but Quagmire this was not a well called game on your end and Pendleton would probably say the same on theirs.

Nothing wrong with passion. I was mad after a game last week for 36 hours and we won by 19.

In the high school basketball game, the players are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the coaches who coach the players, and the officials who prosecute the players. These are their stories. Dun dun.
