Better than Crawford?

 

Hard to say that and hard to compare their games. Crawford is bigger and stronger and his game reflects that as a strength for him. Hard to stop him if you can't match his size and strength. Dante Allen is very finesse oriented and shoots the ball really well and I understand he's a true Freshman age wise. Both players are really good......just different styles.

Quagmire, did not hear your comments because I was at the game. But my Panther eyes saw three referees that called three different type games. Ref #1 called the silliest tic-tac fouls out front that needlessly impaired the flow of the game. Ref#2 allowed mugging in the paint that borderlined on felonious assault. Ref#3 was a lost ball in high weeds constantly looking at the other two to bail him out. As the former worst ref in Ky High School history I hesitated to make these comments, but Quagmire this was not a well called game on your end and Pendleton would probably say the same on theirs.

 

agree 100%. There were quite a few plays on both ends where players were mugged and nothing called, but others where touch fouls stopped game flow.

Dontaie Allen is an outstanding scorer and rebounder, but his defense doesn't get enough attention. His length and athleticism on defense cause a lot of problems.

Did notice multiple 10th region coaches in the stands...Carr, Biggs ( I think), Trame and they all got an eyeful.

Thanks Oldercoach and LCDAWGS19, good to know I wasn't alone in my assessment of the officiating. Well, I wouldn't be alone, the Augusta faithful made their voices heard as well!! Purplepride92 I'll never deny my passion for my Augusta Panthers. It's one of those reasons we love sports!!

It was a good game. Both teams played hard wildcats made big shots and the panthers who usually are known for making big shots couldn't tonight. Plus missed free throws hurt. Dontaie Allen good player and will be great by a senior but on the other hand no one could handle Connor maddox he got to the paint at ease and one of the best shooters in the region.

Right now? Probably not. By the end of their careers? Definitely. Crawford's a stud and one the best pure scorers of all time. But I see Allen turning into a 4 maybe 5 star recruit.

I didnt attend this one but listened to LCDAWGS19 call the game. Sounded as if Pendleton had a game plan and excuted it. Go ahead and allow Maddox to get his but work on other players a limit their scoring. Shutting down the driving lanes and keeping Snapp to 2 points.

 

Agree with the poster about Maddox he is a great shooter, but for this Panther team to be successful its gonna take all 3 of those seniors to have good games. Not like years past where they could rely on one player to carry them in big games. Their games vs Campbell and Bracken are examples of that. When all three play well the win or are right there at the end. If not then like last night they lose.

Any stats? Difference in the game was holding Snapp to 2 pts if that's correct. He was probably averaging 10 or 12 I'm guessing.

Game plan was not to allow Maddox to get his. They had Woods denying Maddox all night long, and he was very effective making Maddox work for everything he got. Candidly, Pendleton was the better team (last night); however, Augusta missed too many normal gimmes around the bucket, and missed too many points from the foul lane to win this one. Snapp appeared to bang his repaired knee early in 2nd quarter and was offensively less affective after that. Thought he gave a warriors effort on defense.

This 10th Region is going to be a wild ride, and it is going to take a deep Team to head to Rupp.

From all early indications on here at least that has to put current #1 Paris as the farorite to go Rupp

That is what I was going to argue if this was the case.

There is so much parity in the 10th this season there are 10-11 teams that have a legitament shot at the regional crown.
