August 29, 200620 yr No TV tonight? Would have been nice to watch the Bengals and then tune in the Reds. IMO if the Reds lose more ground on this trip, it will take more than half price tickets and dollar hot dogs to get the fans to show up. Especially if CP lights the Pack tonight Well, there's part of the equation. 17-0 Cincy …
August 29, 200620 yr Here is a homework assingment for you GT. What is the Reds record when Narron starts the lineup below, and what is their runs per game average with the lineup? Freel Hatteberg Griffey Encarnacion Dunn Aurillia Ross Phillips I got bored and decided to figure this out. When this lineup starts the game the Reds are 4-1 with 35 runs scored. That comes out to an average of 7 runs per game.
August 29, 200620 yr Per Lancaster... LOS ANGELES -- Homer Bailey didn't do anything to make Wayne Krivsky's life any easier tonight. With the GM in attendance in Chattanooga, Bailey tossed six shutout innings, allowing just two hits without walking a batter while striking out eight. Just to clarify a misconception that seems to be floating around out there: Bailey does not have to be called up by Thursday to qualify for the postseason roster. Because the Reds have a slew of pitchers on the DL, they can call up any pitcher who was in the organization on Aug. 31 to replace, say, Paul Wilson or Grant Balfour in the postseason. Not that I'm convinced they'll bring young Homer up, because they are concerned about an increase in innings pitched from year to year, but the pressure is only going to ratchet up -- especially if Michalak gets knocked around tonight.
