Check this out. It is an advertisement for a German grocery store. Have to read the subtitles though.

Thanks for sharing hoops

That commercial and a brief call with my mom has changed my Christmas plans for this year. Mom lost her husband early this year and this of course will be her first Christmas without him.

We are getting up having Christmas and big family breakfast here in Kentucky. As always I'll call mom and wish her a Merry Christmas that morning, then we are heading to Indiana to surprise my mom for Christmas. We were planning on going up New Years weekend to see her as we normally do and that's what she is expecting this year. But when my Indiana family gets together for Christmas dinner at my aunt's house we are going to show up to surprise my mom.

ausgezeichnet!!

This is really a great commercial!

This really can be the challenging part of the holidays for the empty nesters, especially when the kids and their families live in other parts of the country, and they have their spouse's families as well to consider. Luckily, we have one of three still in Kentucky.

Strong.

Very strong.

Hits close to home a bit.

Wow. That was strong.

Powerful, but nothing opens the flood gates like that Guinness empty chair commercial. It happens it every time I see it. Not sure why, but I think it makes me think of my father.

One of my favorite commercials ever.

I also have a tremendous amount of respect for those who serve our country, be it military, police, or first responders. That probably has something to do with it, too.
