December 12, 201510 yr What song would you like to be playing at your daughters wedding when it comes time for the Father/Daughter dance? Well, for the original Daddy's Little girl it's an easy pick. Off Journey's 1996 Trail by Fire album, "When I Think of You". Steve Perry wrote the song about his mother who had passed in 1986. DLG was almost a year when this came out and I can remember listening to the words and saying to Mrs. Lawnboy, "when Taylor gets married, this is the Father/Daughter dance song". I DID have video of me holding her and this song playing, but of course when DLG 2.0 was about 8 or 9, she somehow deleted it. :banghead:

I hadn't thought much about it myself until just now, but I think I've seen it done both ways a fair number of times. Here's the one my father-in-law picked to dance to with my wife. (Her name is not Grace/Gracie.)

December 14, 201510 yr At this point my 18-yr.old daughter is not too sentimental. She says no slow songs at her wedding. Right now she says its would be "I Got a Feeling" by Black Eye Peas. (great get you hyped song) There is some sentiment there though. We cranked it 3-4 times on way to Rupp Area to see Colonels win state title. That was back when I drove her & friends around on weekend nights. Miss those days . . . they would always belt out some tune. I was always between "turn it down" or "this is awesome". A little different than the years driving around my boys & their friends.
December 14, 201510 yr Like @TAC, I do not have a daughter. I sadly miss the opportunity for this dance and walking her up the aisle. :cry: I don't miss the opportunity to pay for a wedding. :thumb:
