A question about gun control

Featured Replies

An AR is not a conceal carry gun, try again.

You seem to be validating my point -- that the AR-15 in the hands of a civilian patriot hasn't stopped a whole lot of domestic terrorist attacks over the years. Which seems to negate the saying that the only thing to stop a bad guy with an AR-15 is a good guy with an AR-15. Another cliche down the drain.

You missed the point, which isn't surprising.

What good does it do to take guns away from me? I don't plan on killing anyone.

Real killers will still get whatever they want. So you are basically asking to disarm law abiding citizens. It's kinda like taking cars away from everyone because a lot of people kill people in DUI crashes.

How come we don't see cars used as weapons of destruction more often? The answer is simple: why bother when assault rifles are so readily available.

32,719 died in car crashes in 2013.

No where near that die at the hands of an AR15 every year.

Ban cars!!!

We should ban heroin too. If we make it illegal the cartels will know better than to bring it into our country.

Oh nevermind, that didn't work. Let's see if more gun laws work. Obviously criminals won't possess guns if they are violating the law.

You spit out those NRA stats faster than Run To State. I'm talking about using cars as weapons, not as modes of transport. How come deranged killers use assault rifles, but not old Buicks, to do their thing?

Maybe because its harder to walk in a facility of unarmed people with a Buick on your side?

I know what your rebuttle will be. But your still fighting a lost cause.

By the way, I asked you earlier what your definition of an "assault" rifle is. I never got an answer. Selective reading I suppose. Bit now that I have your attention, what is your definition of an assault rifle and what makes it different from other weapons in your mind? Just curious.

Stricter laws obviously helped in California. (Insert heavy sarcasm)

The radical Muslim jihadists used planes on 9/11, do we outlaw those too?

What part of "reducing carnage in mass murders" don't you understand? Any weapon that has the potential to spray X number of bullets in Y seconds should be banned. Period.

So you want ALL semi-autos banned. Correct?

"Assault rifle' is not defined. Lets drop that term except for the military definition - select fire capabiliability. Meaning semi-auto, 3 round burst or full auto. Everything else is just a gun - a plan old, semi-automatic rifle.

The AR-15 is not even a 'powerful' (the favorite news people and scarier people term) gun compared to others. Its high velocity but only .223 in caliber. A .3006 deer rifle has much more punch and single round killing power.

So if not the AR-15, what gun is recommended for home protection and for critter management?

Really set me straight, cowboy.

The good news is that all your toys are still legal.

The bad news is that more people are thinking as I do. Or at least I get that impression.

Since we got to start somewhere, let's begin by banning the weapon of choice for all these obscene mass murders.

Over 100 million firearms have been sold since 2008. Black Friday topped 185,000, that’s 8,000 guns sold every hour. 2,000,000 in November and and almost 20 million this year. Something tells me your impression is incorrect.

Read this S L O W L Y so that perhaps it might sink in. I'm not a member of the NRA. I'm just a guy that thinks for himself and doesn't let fear be his guide.

Do you even know what an actual assault weapon is? A real one, not what the media and the president claims one is.

So you want ALL semi-autos banned. Correct?

Correct. No citizen patriot needs to own one.
