How do u know if that touchdown never stood who's to say Ncc would force a 3 and out and and then Smith broke a big run .I understand that all hearsay but you can't say that wouldn't of made a difference..

The block was actually about seven yards behind the line of scrimmage, after Caldwell was standing in the endzone. Their end took an outside rush route and our two players just pushed him that way, taking him out of the play. They released the block and the end turned his back to them, the play was over, you can see Caldwell standing up in the endzone. It doesn't appear that either of our players touched him ever in the back, but hard to tell. Either way, the block was good and the play was over, should have been a TD. Then we could have kicked a bunch of speculative field goals.

Should have been a personal foul then if it was that far behind the play and the player was already in the end zone....

Could it have changed momentum??? We will never know. NewCath had more than amply opportunity to put more points on the board, as did Mayfield.

 

But I agree with the Mayfield contingent, tainted championship........I think NOT.

So with that rule, take it back to the Conner vs Cooper game, Cooper punts the ball, Conner muffs it on the 6, Cooper picks it up and scored. Can Cooper advance it?

That was a bad call in that game....and I was screaming it at the refs. No they can not advance it!!

I tell you what I know for sure, the trophy is in our case, number 12, oh, and when the ticket lady took my ticket, she said WELCOME HOME!

I'm a NKY guy that watches more than his fair of football each year. I would love to say that the officials cost NKY a state title but that's not true. Mayfield played a solid game and made adjustments and NewCath didn't. The punt return call was blown. We all agree on that, even the Mayfield folks will agree I think after seeing the debate on BGP. But to take anything away from their championship is a joke. They made adjustments and NewCath didn't. They knew that they couldn't run the ball on NewCath so they threw Quick passes. They spied Smith and let the others beat them. They say back and laughed at NewCath's play calling. They took what was given to them and ran with it. The punt call was unfortunate for NewCath but it wasn't Mayfield's fault it happen. I love NKY football but to sit back and watch this thread is sickening. NewCath had the chance to take ahold of this game and thier OC ran the Wildacat on 3 and 8. He chose to run the Jet sweep on 4 and 1 from midfield. He chose to run pass plays with routes that take too long to run. He continued to run Smith when Mayfield was spying him all game long. Enough. Mayfield made adjustments and NewCath didn't. Let them enjoy the victory and hope like hell, your head coach takes the play calling away from your OC. Refs didn't cost you the game, get over it, learn from it and make changes needed. Can I get an amen???

Someone please answer me this before I hang it up for the season. Since the punt only hit the NCC return man in the helmet and never touched his hands, that is considered a muffed punt? And if the same thing happens and it is a NCC blocker down field and the ball hits him in the helmet, is the call the same? Thanks in advance
